Are we even surprised by price increases anymore? The Nissan Murano just joined the party of trucks and SUVs that are getting more expensive. However, we aren’t sure if the price increase for the 2023 Nissan Murano is worth it.

How much does the 2023 Nissan Murano cost?

The 2023 Nissan Murano price starts at $33,660. It has an increase of $750 compared to the 2022 model, which starts at about $32,910. The extra cash may be due to the rising costs of inflation and supply chain shortages.

The Murano SV FWD now costs $37,200, which is up from $36,450. The Murano SL FWD jumped up from $40,410 to $41,160. Last but not least, the top-spec Murano Platinum trim now costs $45,210 instead of $44,640.

These prices are for forward-drive models. Adding all-wheel drive to the 2022 model costs about $1,700. Also, the prices listed above are for the MSRPs. They do not include the destination fee or dealership markups.

Is the 2023 Murano worth buying?

Yes, the 2023 Nissan Murano is an excellent three-row SUV to consider. It has a near-luxury cabin and a long list of standard tech.

Plus, it features a unique, attractive look on the inside and out. You’ll find that the seats are incredibly comfortable with plenty of passenger space.

However, not much is happening for 2023. The Murano is primarily a carry-over model. According to Cars.com, it only features the new Nissan logo. But it does have two new shades of paint, including Super Black and Deep Blue Ocean Pearl.

It has the same 3.5-liter V6 engine with 260 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.5 seconds, which is average for the class. It has a smooth and consistent power delivery with responsive, athletic handling. But the brakes can seem a bit soft.

When properly equipped, the Murano can tow up to 1,500 lbs. This is behind the competition. For example, the Toyota Highlander can tow up to 5,000 lbs. You can access up to 32.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and up to 6.0 cubes total.

Also, the Murano gets an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city and up to 28 mpg on the highway. The ride quality could be a little smoother, but the interior is peacefully quiet. Also, the dual-zone climate control is fast and effective.

Does the Murano have nice features?

Yes, the 2023 Nissan Murano is well-equipped with high-quality and soft-touch covered materials such as soft leather and dark teak wood trim. The seats are large and well-padded in the front and rear.

The standard 8-inch touchscreen looks a little dated, but it’s easy to use. It has plenty of USB-C and USB-A ports in the front and rear, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. You can upgrade to the 11-speaker Bose audio system.

Standard safety features include forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist.

While the Murano is a well-rounded, comfortable, spacious, and value-packed option, it’s a little old. It’s looked pretty much the same since 2015. It’s worth buying, but it’s odd to have a price hike for the same old SUV.
