The Nissan Versa is a capable option for car buyers looking for a subcompact sedan with room for five and a reasonable price tag. The 2022 model year was fuel-efficient, cheap, and well-recommended by U.S. News. Still, 2022 is in full swing, and you might be looking to snag a brand new 2023 Versa. Here’s what we know so far about the 2023 Nissan Versa.

Will there be a 2023 Nissan Versa?

There will be a 2023 Nissan Versa, but consumers shouldn’t expect dramatic and sweeping changes. Nissan introduced its third-generation Versa in 2020, and the company sees fit to continue the subcompact sedan for the 2023 model year. That’s good news for economy car shoppers who want a cheap sedan for not a whole lot of money.

How much should I pay for a Versa?

The 2023 Nissan Versa should have a starting price of $16,000. That estimated starting price is courtesy of Edmunds and falls in line with the starting price of $16,675 for the 2022 model year. As a result, car shoppers should expect to pay similar prices for the upcoming 2023.

When will the new Versa come out?

Nissan will likely release the new 2023 Versa in the Fall of 2022. That means consumers don’t have long before they see the new Versa on showroom floors and online retailers. However, it is unclear how the manic landscape of supply chain deficiencies and material shortages will affect the release of the little Nissan subcompact sedan.

What will be different about the 2023 Nissan Versa?

Considering that the latest Versa got its update in 2020, it is likely that the 2023 Nissan Versa will be very similar to the outgoing model year. Also, Edmunds says that the 2023 Nissan Versa is unlikely to get any noteworthy changes. As a result, the 2023 model year will probably share the same 1.6L four-cylinder engine as previous models. Also, the Versa’s five-speed manual and continuously variable transmission (CVT) will likely appear in the upcoming car.

Is Nissan discontinuing the Versa?

Right now, it doesn’t appear that Nissan has any intent of discontinuing the Versa. However, with the ever-increasing popularity of SUVs, crossovers, and various kinds of electric vehicles (EVs), it wouldn’t be surprising. Frankly, an electrified version of the car or a combination of EV drivetrain and crossover ride height might become one of the company’s focal points, like the Nissan Kicks.

What other cars can you buy instead of a 2023 Nissan Versa?

If you’re not impressed with the Versa and would like to look at other subcompact options for 2023, you’re in luck. You could opt for a 2022 Hyundai Accent, which received high scores from U.S. News in many of the same categories as the 2022 Nissan Versa. Also, Hyundai offers an industry-leading warranty with many of its cars, so the vehicle comes with some peace of mind. However, Hyundai is discontinuing the Accent for 2023, so you might be better off with a 2023 Mini Cooper.
