Now that the Nissan 370Z’s 11-year production run is over, the highly-anticipated 2023 Nissan Z will soon fill the void in the lineup. The Nissan Z was unveiled last fall and received much praise from auto reviewers, but now, we are eagerly awaiting for it to show up in dealer showrooms. When can you get a 2023 Nissan Z?

Nissan recently told the editors at Car and Driver that we can expect the 2023 model to show up in the Summer of 2022. The Japanese automaker cited supply chain issues as the main culprit for its tardy arrival time, but most Americans that are chomping at the bit for this car likely won’t mind. After all, anything good – especially if it has 400 hp – is worth the wait.

How much will the 2023 Nissan Z cost?

According to Nissan, the 2023 Nissan Z will start at $39,990 for the base Sport model, before the destination charge. Stepping up the Performance trim will add another $10,000 as it carries a tag of $49,990. The top-trim Proto Spec is another $3,000 with a price of $52,990.

2023 Nissan Z: trim, specs, and features

The 2023 Nissan Z will be powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 that’s taken straight from the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400. That means that it too will have 400 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque, but it’s possible to equip it with either a six-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmission to transmit the power to the rear wheels.

Powertrain aside, every Nissan Z will come standard with LED lighting, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with six speakers is standard, but upgrading to the Performance trim will update those stats to a 9-inch screen with navigation and a Bose sound system with eight speakers.

Black cloth seats are also standard equipment, but anyone wanting leather will have to spring for the Performance trim. The base trim also offers a set of 18-inch wheels; the Performance trim will come with a set of RAYS 19-inch wheels and a sports suspension. The higher trim will also have larger four-piston brakes. So we can see where that extra $10,000 goes.

The 2023 Nissan also has standard safety features

In addition to the performance and comfort features, the forthcoming 2023 Z will come standard with an array of safety features. The roster of driver-assist features includes automated emergency braking, pedestrian detection, a lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring.

As far as the warranty goes, the Nissan Z will be cared for if anything breaks as it comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty as well as a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. Unfortunately, there is no complimentary maintenance included.
