For the first time Hyundai and Kia are significantly updating their hot-selling SUV twins. The 2023 Hyundai Palisade and 2023 Kia Telluride SUVs will look a lot more modern and will be able to tackle more off-road trails with new packages.

The two corporate twins are large, three-row, SUVS. They are the largest SUVs the company makes and for the first time are getting significant upgrades.

Neither has been significantly updated since they were launched in 2018.

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade has a new look

The new 2023 Palisade is Hyundai’s flagship SUV and the company says the new updates will reflect that. The 2023 Palisade will have a wider grille with new LED composite lights on the front end that promise a “sharp-edged, technical appeal” the company said. It will also bring new multi-spoke alloy wheels that “fill the wheel openings,” which means that the wheels and tires will likely grow. Today you can order 20-inch wheels on the Calligraphy package.

The company will reveal the new Palisade on April 13 with a premiere on the company’ s YouTube channel.

The two images the company released don’t show much. You can see the new wheels, which have a turbine look like a jet engine, and you can see the new front-end lighting. But that’s about it.

The 2023 Kia Telluride will seat up to eight people

Kia, too, is updating the Telluride with a new design for 2023.

We can glean a bit more about the 2023 Telluride from the images Kia released on April 7. The new look of the 2023 Telluride shows some new design elements, including pairs of vertical LED market light stripes and a new grille. The silhouette also looks a bit taller and rounder than the current version.

Critically, Kia has confirmed the new Telluride will be a three-row SUV with room for seven or eight passengers. It will still have all-wheel-drive, which could be part of the new X-Pro variant. The current Telluride has been praised for its reliability, functionality, and road manners by Consumer Reports.

The interior image shows off Kia’s new space-age corporate look for its vehicle interiors, complete with an ultra-long infotainment screen.

Kia is also announcing the new Telluride SUV at an event on April 13.

What do we already know about the updates?

As previously reported, the new screen be a 12.3-inch long and the technology will include voice recognition, a full rearview mirror display, remote park assist, and hydrophobic windows.

Not that anyone complained about the 2022 Hyundai Palisade’s interior, but he 2023 will be nices.

Hyundai is also increasing the off-road capability of the Palisade with anew XRT trim level, with a tow mode, that will give the Palisade more off-road ability. For those that want to cruise in luxury, the new Calligraphy trim should fit the bill. The 2022 powertrains should remail, which include the 3.8-liter V6 with an eight-speed automatic.
