How much power does the 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel have? 

The 2023 Ram Heavy Duty Rebel is available with the 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six engine that cranks out 370 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque. According to AutoBlog, this engine isn’t available with the Ram Power Wagon. 

You need the diesel engine to achieve the 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel’s maximum towing capacity of up to 16,870 lbs. It can also carry a payload of up to 3,140 lbs. The Power Wagon can tow up to 10,590 lbs and carry a payload of 1,630 lbs. 

The Heavy Duty Rebel and Power Wagon both use a standard 6.4-liter V8 engine with 410 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque. The diesel engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, and the gas engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. 

How capable is the Ram Heavy Duty Rebel? 

The 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel comes straight from the factory with significant off-roading chops. It rides on 20-inch wheels wrapped in 20-inch off-road tires. Later, 18-inch will be available. The Power Wagon has 17-inch beadlock capable options available. 

To pull yourself or others out of tricky spots, you can equip the optional Warn-Zeon winch. It’s rated for 12,000 lbs. But it’s only available with the gas engine because it doesn’t pair well with the turbo diesel’s low charge-air cooler. 

This truck features a unique off-road suspension with an optional ear air suspension, standard four-wheel drive, a rear limited-slip differential, and a rear electronic locker. Skid plates protect the fuel tank and transfer case. 

The Power Wagon is a little beefier for off-roading with a front-locking differential and an electronically disconnecting swaybar. The Heavy Duty Rebel shares underpinnings with the Power Wagon, though. 

It can be thought of as a Ram Power Wagon light, and slots in between the Laramie and Limited Long Horn trims. But it does share underpinnings with the Power Wagon. This heavy-duty beast is available as a Crew Cab with a 5-foot 7-inch bed. 

How much is the 2500 Rebel? 

You can get started with the 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel for $68,940. It has a $1,895 destination fee and will arrive at dealerships by the end of 2022. The Ram Power Wagon starts at $63,760. 

Thanks to a Mopar sports performance hood and Ram Rebel badging, it has a unique look. Interior options include bucket seats or a bench with either cloth or leather upholstery. You can opt for a 360-degree camera system and a 12-inch digital gauge cluster. 

The menus can be customized to display crucial information for towing, rock crawling, stump pulling, or trail running. 

Safety features include blind-spot warning, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, lane-keeping assistance, and a digital rearview mirror.
