The 2023 Toyota bZ4X is now one of an increasing number of mainstream electric crossovers, including the Volkswagen ID.4, Hyundai Kona Electric, Ford Mustang Mach E, Chevy Bolt EUV, and Kia Niro EV.
The 2023 Toyota bZ4X offers two trim levels: the XLE and Limited. Buyers can opt for front-wheel drive and one motor or all-wheel drive and two motors. For either model, adding AWD and two motors costs $2,080.
Aside from their capacity, the 63.4-kWh battery in the single-motor 2023 Toyota bZ4X and the 65.5-kWh pack in the dual-motor variant are identical. The FWD, single-motor model’s EPA range estimates are 242 and 252 miles for the Limited and XLE trims, whereas the AWD models’ estimates are 222 and 228 miles. The bZ4X gets an estimated 107 MPGe or more on the highway and 131 MPGe in the city.
Unfortunately, Car and Driver’s highway testing placed the bZ4X at the back of the pack, getting only 160 miles on a full charge.

The bZ4X’s moonroof measures 186 square inches, about two times larger than a standard sunroof. However, you might wonder why it’s called “fixed.” Well, you can’t open it.

A Wi-Fi hotspot and wireless charging for smartphones are also included. In addition, the Limited boasts a six-speaker audio system with SiriusXM Satellite Radio, but buyers can upgrade to a nine-speaker JBL stereo.
