Two of the world’s top-selling sedans are from Toyota: the Camry and Corolla, which have achieved decades of success. For those deciding between the two sedans, there’s much to like. However, the 2023 Toyota Camry has one big benefit over the 2023 Toyota Corolla. It has a more spacious cabin.

The 2023 Toyota Camry is larger than the 2023 Corolla. Both models are sedans, but the Camry is a midsize model, and the Corolla is a compact. With its larger overall size, the Camry has a more spacious cabin than the Corolla. 

Both Toyota vehicles can seat up to five people. However, the Camry has a total passenger volume of 100.4 cu-ft, while the Corolla has 88.6 cu-ft. Additionally, the additional space makes the most significant impact for the rear seats. The Camry offers 38 inches of rear legroom, and the Corolla has 34.8 inches. 

The Camry also provides more cargo space with its larger truck. It has a storage capacity of 15.1 cu-ft, compared to 13.1 cu-ft for the Corolla. For both passengers and storage, the Camry offers more space.

In addition to being more spacious, the cabin of the 2023 Toyota Camry is also more upscale than in the 2023 Toyota Corolla. The midsize sedan has higher-quality materials and a more luxurious look and feel. This is especially the case for the upper trims. While the Camry won’t be confused for a marque luxury sedan, it has a more premium cabin than the Corolla.

Also, the Camry offers interior features that are not available for the Corolla. This includes a dual-zone automatic climate control system, cooled front seats, power lumbar support for the driver’s seat, a heated steering wheel, and a head-up display for projecting driving information onto the windshield. 

Additionally, while the Camry offers a nine-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, the largest screen offered in the Corolla is eight inches. Furthermore, there are other interior features that are standard for all Camry trims — but optional for the Corolla, so you have to pay extra. 

Other ways the Toyota Camry is better than the Corolla

There are other ways the 2023 Camry is better than the 2023 Corolla. This includes more powerful engines, with a 301-hp 3.5-liter V-6, a 205-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder, and a 208-hp hybrid powertrain. In comparison, the Corolla offers a 169-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a 134-hp hybrid powertrain. Also, unlike the Corolla, the Camry has a TRD sports sedan model.

Plus, the Camry provides quicker acceleration. It has 0-60 mph time as low as 5.6 seconds, but it takes the Corolla 8.3 seconds to complete the sprint.

Also, while both sedans offer efficient hybrid models, the Camry Hybrid has a higher fuel economy. It gets up to an estimated 52 combined mpg, compared to 47 combined mpg for the Corolla. 

However, the biggest benefit that the 2023 Toyota Camry has over the 2023 Toyota Corolla is its more spacious cabin. If you’re deciding between the two sedans, then the roomier interior is a key element to keep in mind.
