How many MPG does the 2023 Toyota Sequoia get?
We’re so excited because the 2023 Toyota Sequoia has a way better fuel economy than before. The Sequoia is getting about 20 mpg in the city and up to 24 mpg on the highway. The official EPA figures haven’t been released, but this is a massive jump.
The previous generation gets an EPA-estimated 13 mpg in the city and up to 17 mpg on the highway. The increase from 13 to 20 is incredible, especially if gas prices continue to have sky-high prices.
You can thank hybrid power for the enhanced fuel efficiency. The new Toyota Sequoia is equipped with the iFORCE MAX hybrid powertrain. The setup pairs a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 engine with an electric motor to crank out 437 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque.
The 2022 Sequoia comes with a 5.7-liter V8 engine with 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque. So this is an increase of 56 horses.
How capable is the 2023 Sequoia?
The 2023 Toyota Sequoia can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.0 seconds. The 2022 Sequoia reaches 60 mph in about 7.4 seconds. While 7.4 seconds is impressive, its new speed is even better.

The new Sequoia is surprisingly agile for such a large SUV, with an excellent turning radius. There’s hardly any body roll around sharp curves.
Upgrading to the Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro adds a .5-inch suspension lift for 9.1 inches of ground clearance. You also get trail cameras, 2.5-inch Fox internal bypass shocks with remote reservoirs on the rear, and a front TRD anti-roll bar.
It rides on 18-inch TRD wheels wrapped in 33-inch Wildpeak Falken all-terrain tires. Plus, a quarter-inch thick aluminum skid plate protects the undercarriage.
Does the 2023 Sequoia have better features?
Yes, the 2023 Toyota Sequoia brings this SUV to the modern era with comfort and tech upgrades. While the Sequoia starts at $58,300, it includes plenty of a value to be worth buying.
The interior can be loaded with luxurious leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated seats in the first and second row, pops of wood or chrome trim, and optional captain’s chairs.
Each trim level except for the standard model comes with a massive 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The tri-zone climate control system, automatic headlights, digital gauge cluster, and a 360-degree camera are must-haves.
