Here’s a look at four 2023 Toyota SUVs: the Corolla Cross Hybrid, bZ4X, 4Runner, and Sequoia.

2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid

The Corolla Cross Hybrid is a small crossover SUV based on the popular Corolla sedan. Toyota hasn’t released 2023 pricing as of this writing, but it’s not expected to be much more expensive than the highest trim of the 2022 gasoline version. So the hybrid could start at around $28,000 to $30,000. 

Underneath the hood is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder paired with three electric motors, which produce a total of 194 hp, according to Toyota. This combination allows the hybrid model to go from 0 to 60 mph in about eight seconds. Fuel economy is also impressive at 37 mpg city/highway combined. 

2023 Toyota bZ4X

The Toyota bZ4X comes in a couple of configurations. One is the single-motor front-wheel-drive powertrain, making 201 hp. The other is a dual-motor all-wheel-drive model producing 214 hp. Its AWD version gets a 6.5-second acceleration time, while the FWD is slightly slower at 7.1 seconds. Expect Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 12.3-inch display. 

It also boasts a panoramic glass roof, blind-spot monitoring, and heated and ventilated front seats. What sets the bZ4X apart from other affordable electric SUVs is ground clearance. It boasts a whopping 8.1 inches of clearance — quite a bit more than rivals. Starting prices for the bZ4X range from $42,000 for the base model to $48,780 for the highest trim level.

2023 Toyota 4Runner

The 2023 Toyota 4Runner is a great off-roader, especially if you choose the TRD Pro or TRD Off-Road Pro trim. Prices start at $39,640 for the standard model and go as high as $54,605 before adding any optional features. 

Under the hood is a 270-hp 4.0-liter V6 engine, paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. This midsize SUV has an eight-inch infotainment screen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The 2023 model marks the 4Runner’s 40th anniversary, so the brand expects to release a special edition to celebrate the occasion. 

2023 Toyota Sequoia

This full-size three-row model is the most expensive Toyota SUV in the automaker’s U.S. lineup. It packs a 3.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 as part of its iForce Max hybrid system. Add that to a 10-speed automatic transmission, and the Sequoia can tow up to 9,520 pounds. That’s impressive compared to rivals like the Ford Expedition, which can haul 9,300 pounds.

Expect to pay around $58,300 for the base-model Sequoia. The price jumps to $75,300 for the range-topping Capstone trim. It includes a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated seats, and multi-zone climate control.
