The 2023 Toyota Tundra SX Finally Provides Affordable Upgrades
The new Toyota Tundra just rolled out, but it’s not done gaining fresh upgrades yet. The 2023 Toyota Tundra SX Package is a new option that helps your truck look great without hurting your wallet. Check out what’s included.
The 2023 Toyota Tundra SX is an affordable appearance package
The new Toyota Tundra looks great, but it’s a little expensive. The 2022 Tundra starts at $35,950. That’s the MSRP, so it doesn’t include the destination fee or dealership markups. Upgrading trim levels from there for alloy wheels and chrome grilles only runs to price up more.
However, the 2023 Toyota Tundra SX Package is limited to the SR5 trim, which is second from the bottom. It provides a dark and dreamy blackout package that has similar vibes to the Nightshade package that’s available with the Toyota Tacoma, 4Runner, and Sequoia.
The SX Package includes dark grey 18-inch wheels, body-colored door handles and bumper inserts, and blacked-out badges. The interior accents are also black, and the package can be paired with white, silver, black, and grey exterior colors.
How much is the Toyota Tundra SX package?
Official pricing for the 2023 Toyota Tundra SX Package hasn’t been released. According to MotorTrend, you have to buy the Tundra SR5 with the 6.5-foot bed or the CrewMax model with the 5.5-bed. The cheaper option starts at $42,450.
Rumors indicate that the package will be extremely affordable. The SX Package for the Toyota Tacoma SX costs $840 and consists of similar styling upgrades and new wheels. So, it’s possible that you can make your Tundra more attractive for less than a grand.
We should learn more about the pricing soon, as the 2023 Tundra SX will arrive at dealerships this summer with the rest of the lineup. Official pricing for the 2023 Tundra hasn’t been released, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it increased by a few hundred bucks.
Upgrading to the SR5 trim adds alloy wheels, LED foglights, rear center armrest and cup holders, adjustable tie-down cleats, and the towing package.
The towing package includes a Class IV tailor hitch, integrated trailer hitch, four-pin trailer connector, and a seven-pin trailer connector.
The SR5 also includes an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, LED headlights, and a sheet-molded compound (SMC) composite bed.
Is the 2023 Tundra worth buying?
Yes, the 2023 Toyota Tundra is an excellent full-size truck to consider buying. Even without the attractive SX package, the new exterior design looks great. Plus, the standard composite bed limits dents and scratches.
Smooth power comes from the turbocharged V6 engine. The tuck has a peppy acceleration and smooth transmission shifts. The brakes are confident, and the steering is responsive for a confident performance on narrow dirt roads.
This truck is pretty versatile. The Capstone trim provides a luxury toy hauler, while the TRD Off-Road package enhances the truck’s off-roading capabilities. But keep in mind that the base engine offers a subpar fuel economy.
We will keep an eye out for more Tundra updates and can’t wait to see how great the SX package looks in person.
