The 2023 Volkswagen ID. Buzz’s Interior Is Surprisingly Plush
The 2023 Volkswagen ID. Buzz is causing quite the buzz. The electric vehicle is available in two different options. It will release as a bus version and as a cargo version. Volkswagen’s electric bus is incredibly refined despite its old-school inspiration.
The 2023 Volkswagen ID. Buzz is more refined than you may think
The Volkswagen ID. Buzz is clearly inspired by another vehicle that goes by many names. The Volkswagen T2 often referred to as the Bulli or Microbus, has been in production for over 70 years. Consumers love the small bus because of its incredible cabin space and practicality. Volkswagen decided to make a more sustainable version of the small bus and thus the electric ID. Buzz was born.
The VW T2 is well known for shuttling surfers to the beach and has practical applications for some businesses as well. Nothing about its exterior or interior design suggested that it was a luxury vehicle. According to Motor1, the ID. Buzz has some swanky features that you may not expect in an electric microbus.
The Volkswagen ID. Buzz’s incredibly spacious cabin will include ambient lighting. It features a polyurethane steering wheel that is designed to feel like leather. Seat covers, headliners, and floor coverings are made of recycled products to reflect Volkswagen’s commitment to sustainable materials rather than materials that require animals like leather.
The electric bus will even include a bottle opener and ice scraper (talk about fancy). The ID. Buzz’s predecessor may have targeted beach bums at one period of time, but the newest iteration is adding class to this practical design as well.

Car and Driver claims that the Volkswagen ID. Buzz will start at around $40,000. The ID. Buzz is expected to be available with a single and dual motor option. The dual-motor option will produce more range and horsepower, providing a more exhilarating ride quality for the driver. Volkswagen has suggested that the single motor option will produce about 250 miles of range, which is sufficient in today’s market.
The modern take on the T2 is much more refined and targets a larger demographic than previous models. The exterior screams pleasure but the interior is all business. This mystery machine is too classy for Scooby and the gang. Volkswagen has designed the ID. Buzz to transcend the limitations of other VW microbuses.
Should you buy a Volkswagen ID. Buzz?
The Volkswagen ID. Buzz may be more versatile than previous microbus models, but that doesn’t mean that consumers will be flocking to this innovative electric vehicle. The ID. Buzz isn’t going to be as ubiquitous as the ID.4 electric SUV, but there’s clearly a demand for this automotive novelty. Is Volkswagen’s electric bus the best of both worlds, or should this far-out design remain a relic of the past?
