2024 C8 Corvette Changes: What Is New for the Latest Model Year?
There’s a new C8 Corvette in town, and some of the recent updates are stellar. Chevrolet is introducing new colors, wheel designs, and accents that really amp up the cool factor. While everyone was mostly on board with the 2023 model, if you can afford the 2024 model, you should buy it, and here’s why.
You’ll love the 2024 C8 Corvette changes
The main changes to the 2024 model are mostly aesthetic. There are also a few driver assistance features that are standard on all trims.
If you are interested in racing your Corvette, you’ll love the new performance data recorder that is available on the 1LT trim. It allows you to keep track of your speed and how many miles you’ve gone, and will even video record it. The rear camera mirror feature is standard.
Other new 2024 C8 Corvette changes are two new wheel designs and three new exterior colors. These are Riptide Blue Metallic, Sea Wolf Gray Tricoat, and Cacti Green. The Sea Wolf Gray costs a little extra.
There is also an Artemis interior with green accents on the interior. Even the seatbelts have this green accent.
Because Chevy always wants the C8 to stand out, there are five new accent-color choices. Full-length dual racing stripes are another option you can add. While we are gaining three new paint colors, we are unfortunately losing three. These include the White Pearl, Caffeine, and Elkhart Lake Blue. Many people will be disappointed to learn that the Midnight Gray racing stripes are being cut as well.
There are several safety features that were available on the 2023 model, but they weren’t standard on all trims. For the 2024 C8 Corvette, drivers are being treated to automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, forward collision alert, front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, lane departure warning, following distance indicator, and auto high beam.
Some of the 2024 C8 Corvette changes aren’t obvious until you pop the hood. Chevy is offering a coupe and convertible engine appearance package, as well as an LT2 engine cover available in Sterling Silver and Edge Red.
An overview of the 2024 C8 Corvette
The new 2024 Chevy C8 Corvette is all about the speed. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in less than three seconds, and the mid-mounted LT2 V8 engine layout makes it perfect for the track. The engine can generate up to 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. The Z06 can generate up to 670 hp.
Technology is a huge part of the 2024 model, and it includes a standard 8.0-inch infotainment screen with built-in Google. The 2LT and 3LT trims offer wireless charging.
Corvettes aren’t exactly known for their massive trunk space, so Chevrolet is addressing this by creating dual trunks. This gives a total of 12.6 cu. ft, which still isn’t much space, but it’s enough to toss in a couple of suitcases.
With a price ranging from $66,300 to $108,100, the 2024 Corvette is beyond the budget of many consumers. Even so, Chevrolet has loaded the C8 up with some very desirable features.
The new electrified 2024 Corvette E-Ray
The Chevy Corvette is going hybrid with the new 2024 Corvette E-Ray. Chevy was pleased to announce that it is the fastest production Corvette in its long history, with a speed of 0 to 60 mph in a mere 2.5 seconds.
The 6.2L V8 engine is paired with an electric motor, and the total horsepower is rated at 655 hp. It’s the first Chevy Corvette to offer all-wheel drive. If you have to use the electric motor, you can go for 45 miles.
Unfortunately, the EPA has not released the fuel mileage ratings, which is what many potential shoppers are interested in. Regardless, for anyone who wants to go green, the Corvette E-Ray is the ideal way to do it.
