The 2024 Silverado 1500 is not getting a major redesign, but there are some minor changes. There are going to be two more paint options, Lakeshore Blue and Slate Gray, and more features will become standard. Across the board, each Chevy full-size truck will feature standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
For those who are looking for a pickup with a V8 engine, the 6.2-liter V8 engine will come with an active exhaust. And that should make this truck sounds pretty aggressive, especially with its power output of 420 horsepower.
The other notable change is to the 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. It makes 310 hp, and Chevy is renaming it the “TurboMax.”

Although it’s not as popular as something like the Ford F-150, Chevy’s full-size truck is preferred by plenty. It’s had songs written about it, tackled job sites, and been used as an off-road vehicle. It also has more towing capacity than rivals like the Ram 1500.
According to Car and Driver, it can have a bit of a rough ride at times. But because it is highly configurable and seen as reliable, it is a worthy pickup.
New features like that rear seatbelt indicator should help this truck handle life as a family vehicle. But, Chevy still lacks a true competitor to the Raptor and TRX. At the end of the day, truck owners are pretty loyal to their brands. And ultimately, the best truck can come down to personal preference.
