2024 Chevy Silverado EV Prices Have Massive Fluctuations
Holy moly, pricing for the Chevrolet Silverado EV has massive ups and downs. There are multiple trims available, and pricing for a few of the higher-level models is a bit more expensive than expected. See how the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV varies.
How much does the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV cost?
Pricing for the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV WT starts at $41,595, including the $1,695 destination fee. This seems pretty good, considering that the base model of the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning starts at $51,974 before the destination fee is added.
So, the electric Silverado Work Truck comes in at about $10,000 cheaper. However, moving up to the Chevy Silverado EV 3WT trim increases the price to $74,800 with the $1,895 destination fee. Also, the EV 4WT trim rings in at $79,800, including the destination fee.
These higher-level models get expensive in a hurry. Plus, we’re a bit worried about the cost of lithium and other minerals. As supplies get scarce due to supply chain issues, pricing for the base model coils rise.
We’ve already seen the Ford F-150 Lightning tack on nearly $8,000 to the entry-level price. But according to GM Authority, Chevrolet plans to release more work truck-level trims to provide affordable options to fleet buyers.
Which Silverado EV trim will be best?
The official 2024 Chevy Silverado EV trims haven’t been released yet, but we have a few clues about what to expect.
The Silverado WT or Work Truck trim is the base model. It’s expected to crank out 510 hp with standard all-wheel drive. With the larger battery pack, it could have up to 400 miles of range on a single charge.
Rumors suggest that the WT model can tow up to 8,000 lb. Also, with a DC fast charger, it may be possible to gain 100 miles of range in under 10 minutes. We can’t wait to put the massive battery pack to the test.
The Silverado EV RST is a higher-level option that comes with an adaptive air suspension, 24-inch wheels, and at least 664 hp. This model should be able to tow up to 10,000 lbs.
The luxury-oriented RST has a fixed glass roof, two-tone black and white leather upholstery with red accent stitching, and a massive storage bin.
With the 3WT and 4WT trims, you may get dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8-inch digital gauge cluster, and an 11-inch infotainment center with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims get an 11-inch gauge display and a 17-inch infotainment display.
When will the 2024 Silverado EV come out?
Production of the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV is expected to begin at the start of the year. This means that it could be only a few more weeks before we learn about all the different trim levels and pricing.
Of course, pricing and production dates are subject to change. However, we hope things stay on track so we can see another Ford F-150 Lightning competitor hit the streets. The Rivian R1T is a worthy rival, but it’s not exactly a full-size option.
Also, a Silverado WT model that can tow up to 20,000 is expected to make an appearance soon. It will most likely come out a few months after the standard models arrive. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
