The electric truck battle is heating up as the Chevrolet Silverado EV enters the rind to face the Ford F-150 Lightning and upcoming Ram 1500 EV. Rivals need to be worried because the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV WT could have the most value and range for its price.

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV WT or the Work Truck model is estimated that start at $39,900. This is Chevrolet’s estimated manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP). So, it doesn’t include the destination fee or dealership markups.

Currently, the destination fee is expected to cost $1,695, bringing the total up to $41,595. Also, it should qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit, which is a huge benefit. You can place a $100 refundable deposit to reserve your model today. The first deliveries may take place in the fall.

The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Pro, which is the work truck trim, has gone up in price a few times during the past year. It currently has an MSRP of $59,974.

The destination fee is another $1,795, bringing the total up to $61,769. It qualifies for the tax credit as well. Plus, the Ram 1500 REV is expected to start at about $58,000.

So, the basic Lightning model could be roughly $18,352 more than the electric Silverado Work Truck model. But prices may change before it officially rolls out.

How much range does the Silverado EV WT have?

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV WT is good for an EPA-estimated range of 450 miles on a single charge, which is electrifying! That also beats every rival’s most expensive variant with extra range for days.

With the standard-range Ford F-150 Lightning, you get up to 230 miles of range. Upgrading to an extended-range model provides about 320 miles of range. The Silverado EV Work Truck beats that by 130 miles.

The standard Ram 1500 REV is targeting about 350 miles of range, but more expensive options in the lineup could get up to 500 miles of range. The standard Silverod EV would still beat the entry-level Ram 1500 EV, though.

On an impressive note, the Silverado EV was aiming for about 400 miles of range but blew past that figure during standard EPA and real-world testing.

How much can the 2024 Silverado EV WT tow?

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV WT is expected to tow up to 10,000 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,300 lbs. After its initial launch, Chevy plans to introduce a work truck model for fleets that can tow up to 20,000 lbs.

All-wheel drive is standard, and the dual-motor setup cranks out 510 hp and 615 lb-ft of torque. The F-150 Lightning Pro can tow up to 5,000 lbs and can carry a payload of up to 2,000 lbs. The extended-range model can tow up to 10,000 lbs.

The Ram 1500 REV is targeting a towing capacity of 14,000 lbs with the ability to carry a payload of up to 2,700 lbs. These figures could change before it debuts for 2025.

It looks like the Chevy Silverado EV WT could be in the lead in terms of value. The work truck model could be the strongest, have the most range, and have the lowest price. Stay tuned for more updates as it enters production.
