We probably won’t see the Ford Edge again after the 2024 model year. It’s clear that the automaker didn’t see the point in changing anything about this SUV, but at least that means it’s not any worse than last year’s model. Is the 2023 model’s most popular trim still the best pick for the most popular 2024 Ford Edge trim this year?

The complete list of 2024 Ford Edge trims

The 2024 Edge has five trims to offer, and the cheapest one starts at $38,365. The base SE has a 250-hp turbo-four engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive and LED headlights are both standard across the lineup. 

Every Ford Edge also has five seats inside, which are covered by cloth in the SE trim. You can also enjoy dual-zone climate control and a 12-inch vertical infotainment screen in this model. It’s programmed with Ford’s updated SYNC 4A interface, which includes smartphone integration and voice recognition. The regular Ford Co-Pilot360 safety suite features forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, plus blind-spot monitors and lane-keeping assistance features. 

The Ford Edge SEL adds a numerical security keypad to the driver’s door, plus standard heating for the front seats. The standard fabric is swapped out for faux leather, though you can add the cloth back if desired. The Ford Edge SEL also has three different package options to add extra convenience and safety features. By itself, this model costs $39,565.

The Ford Edge ST-Line is clad with black exterior accents and red stitching inside, plus special sports seats made from synthetic leather. The standard 18-inch wheels are replaced with 20-inch wheels covered in glossy black paint. This model also has a phone charging pad, a 110-volt outlet, and a power liftgate.

The ST-Line trim is priced at $43,620, and you can get the Titanium model for just $100 more. That one includes a genuine leather upholstery upgrade, a gesture-operated tailgate, and a Bang & Olufsen stereo. Front parking sensors and a heated steering wheel are also added to this trim. 

The Ford Edge ST is the only model to feature the upgraded 335-hp twin-turbo V6 engine paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. A performance suspension and leather seats with extra bolstering complete the ST’s sporty persona. You can also opt for a package with performance brake rotors and pads plus a radiator cooling fan. It adds $2,695 to the Edge ST’s MSRP of $47,205.

The Ford Edge SEL is the average buyer’s first choice

According to Edmunds, the SEL model is still the most popular 2024 Ford Edge trim in the lineup, just like it has been for the previous two model years. The Ford Edge SE already has a lot of standard technology, so the seating upgrades provided in the SEL are usually enough to please buyers.

If not, all of the SEL’s packages are extremely affordable. Adding navigation, evasive steering assist, and cruise control only costs $775. The convenience-minded package with the power liftgate and wireless charging pad, among other features, is priced at $1,250. With these bundles, buyers can have a well-equipped SUV without splurging for a whole higher trim level. 

Which 2024 Ford Edge trim is the best?

Due to its impeccable value, even with extra packages, we think that the Ford Edge SEL is a great trim for most buyers. However, we also appreciate that even the Ford Edge’s highest trims are priced lower than many of the ones that its rivals offer. For instance, even with an Elite appearance and safety package, the Titanium model can still be had for under $50,000. 

Edmunds reminds buyers that they might experience minor annoyances while driving this SUV, such as the occasional suspension hiccup and shifting delay. If you can forgive those problems and the Ford Edge pleases your budget, try test-driving some of the middle or upper trims.
