If you plan to test drive a 2024 Ford Mustang, you’re probably excited to hear the engine growl. But the new Mustang offers a surprise treat. Imagine revving that pony without even setting foot in the car. Ford recently unveiled the 2024 Mustang, boasting updated styling and tech. And one of the more interesting new features is remote revving.

The seventh-generation Ford Mustang will roll into dealerships next summer, and this reimagined breath of fresh air in the 2024 model is already generating buzz. Ford boasts this new Mustang will redefine the driving experience by offering an immersive cockpit like you’ve never seen.

The design features new lines and metal, including an aggressive fascia and blunt grille. You can opt for a coupe or a convertible. And there are two new engines to get excited about, too. But perhaps one of the most interesting additions is Remove Rev.

2024 Ford Mustang engine options

Arguably one of the coolest features in the 2024 Ford Mustang is Remote Rev. Simply press and hold a button on the key fob, and your Mustang will roar to life. Of course, some critics are already saying this feature should come with a don’t-be-that-guy warning. But when you’re driving a Mustang, there’s nothing better than that sweet sound of the engine rumbling. And now, you can achieve that heart-pumping feeling without even sitting in the driver’s seat.

The 2024 Ford Mustang offers two engine options, each offering a unique sound profile. Choose between a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four in the EcoBoost models and the monstrous 5.0-liter Coyote V8 in the GT. The latter includes a dual-throttle body design and dual air intake box, making it arguably the most aggressive, naturally aspirated V8 in a Mustang GT. Get it with either an automatic or manual transmission.

Other upgrades to the 7th-gen pony car

In addition to boasting Remote Rev, the 2024 Ford Mustang also offers a drift brake. Find it in the Performance Pack, also including a Torsen limited-slip differential, wider tires, and bigger Brembo brakes. The electronic drifting brake is much like a factory version of the Ken Block–style handbrake, The Drive reports. With this feature enabled, you’ll be a drifting master in your new Stang.

The 2024 Ford Mustang boasts other interior updates. They include a 12.4-inch instrument cluster next to a 13.2-inch touchscreen in the redesigned dash. While some features, such as temperature controls, have moved to the touchscreen, physical knobs remain. For example, the Mustang pony button still allows access to various performance metrics, like exhaust loudness and launch control.

Expect safety upgrades too. The Ford Mustang now offers reverse automatic braking, lane-centering assistance, and adaptive cruise control. In addition, Ford’s Power-Up software allows for remote updates to various programs. And though Ford has yet to reveal many details, we know the Sync 4 platform will power the car’s primary software.
