The top trim of the HR-V is the EX-L model starting at $27,650. This is the most premium trim of the HR-V. It has upscale features like dual-zone automatic climate control, parking sensors, leather seats, a power driver’s seat, a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker audio system, and a one-touch power moonroof.
Additionally, there’s a third trim in-between the base LX and the loaded EX-L that’s proven to be popular among Honda SUV shoppers.

According to Edmunds, the mid-range Sport trim is the most popular variant of the 2024 Honda HR-V. Pricing starts at $25,650 and comes with some nice upgrades over the base LX model. It’s powered by the same 158-hp four-cylinder engine and adds a sporty appearance package. This includes a sport grille, chrome exhaust finisher, and 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels. Additional standard features include remote start, heated front seats, a six-speaker audio system, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob.
Unlike the LX trim, the Sport model is available with blind-spot monitoring for an extra $550. The Sport trim also has a couple of paint options you can’t get on the LX; Milano Red and Urban Gray Pearl. We think Milano Red looks pretty good with the black wheels.
The best HR-V trim, according to car critics
Experts have differing opinions on the best Honda HR-V trim. Car and Driver and Edmunds agree with consumers and say the Sport trim is the best buy. However, MotorTrend thinks a loaded EX-L model with FWD is the best choice. The outlet argues that the EX-L is the best value because it’s still priced lower than the CR-V.
This SUV is so well-appointed in the base trim and so reasonably priced in the top trim that you can’t go wrong with any HR-V. That said, it’s easy to see why the Sport trim is so popular. It arguably has the best balance of features and value, and we’re partial to its sporty appearance package.
