The 2024 Jeep Gladiator Is Finally Getting a New Face
When the Jeep Gladiator returned in 2018, people were surprised by its look. However, it looks exactly like what it is, a Jeep truck. It has a transparent yet durable and capable design. Some people were drawn to it like moths to a lamp, and others called it ugly. Soon, we can all judge the 2024 Jeep Gladiator after it receives a slight makeover.
2024 Jeep Gladiator: What’s new?
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator is getting a refresh for the new model year, including a new face. It was captured in spy shots without wearing any camouflage, so we can confirm that it borrows some aspects of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler.
It shares the same seven-slot grill with a slightly more confident look, updated headlights, and revised bumpers. The rear end could have new LED taillights, a refreshed tailgate, and an enhanced bumper.
The Jeep lettering looks different, and we can only spot one tow hook instead of two. We don’t expect the size of the bed to change.
But as Pickup Truck Talk points out, the Gladiator still has a regular antenna. It might not be incorporated into the windshield, like the Wrangler’s. However, it still looks like the Jeep truck that it is.
Will the 2024 Gladiator have new engine options?
Rumors suggest that the 2024 Jeep Gladiator will receive new powertrain options. The most exciting upgrade could include plug-in hybrid power. That’s right. We’ve got our eye out for the Jeep Gladiator 4xe.
While rumors of the Gladiator 4xe popped up years ago, they were quickly put to bed after Stellantis shared that we had to wait for the refreshed Wrangler to arrive first, and it’s finally here.
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine that’s paired with two electric motors and a 17-kWh battery pack to generate 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. It gets an EPA-estimated 49 mpg-e and has a range of 22 miles.
It could have more power with the Gladiator to account for the extra weight. The current generation has a standard 3.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.
Upgrade to the 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel engine for 260 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque. It gets an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and up to 28 mpg on the highway.
The Gladiator has an eight-speed automatic transmission and a six-speed manual option. We wonder if these engine options and the manual setup will be dropped due to low demand.
Will the 2024 Gladiator have a new interior?
Based on the spy shots, it’s safe to expect the 2024 Jeep Gladiator to receive interior updates. The dashboard is covered in the images, indicating that the 8.4-inch touchscreen could be replaced by a larger unit.
The 2024 Jeep Wrangler has a new 12.3-inch screen. It could also get a new digital guage cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a new button layout, updated storage solutions, upgraded trim materials, and auxiliary switches.
Overall, the 2024 Jeep Gladiator will probably still borrow from the Jeep Wranglers’ ionic style to become a better-looking Jeep truck. We can also hope for more power and efficiency with the potential Gladiator 4xe and updated tech.
The 2024 Gladiator will arrive this summer with enough time to reach dealerships by the fall. Stay tuned as we continue tracking the Gladiator for new clues.
