The numbers are in, and things could be better for the Jeep Gladiator. It’s one of the trucks that is struggling against declining sales, like the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500. But there’s still time before hitting the bottom of the barrel.

The 2024 Jeep Gladiator has declining sales

On the list of the top 10 trucks with the most sales so far in 2024, the Jeep Gladiator came in last place. That’s better than not making the list at all, but if it continues to face declining sales then it could lose its spot.

The Gladiator sold 23,478 units in the first half of 2024. That may sound like a good start, but the Ford F-series trucks have 352,893 sales so far.

Also, the Gladiator came behind the Nissan Frontier with 39,963 sales, the Chevy Colorado has sold 41,823 models, and the Toyota Tacoma with 69,437. So, the Gladiator needs to catch up.

Things could be worse, because the Gladiator is ahead of the GMC Canyon, Honda Ridgeline, and Ford Ranger, which didn’t make the list.

The Ridgeline could be struggling due to its higher price tag and unibody design. The Ranger is facing declining sales because of supply chain disruptions and production delays.

But why does the Jeep Gladiator have declining sales? Price could be a factor. It has an MSRP of $37,895 while rivals like the Tacoma start at $31,500.

Market trends show that people are starting to avoid large, expensive trucks in favor of more affordable, fuel-efficient options. On that note, the Gladiator gets an EPA-estimated 16 mpg in the city and up to 23 mpg on the highway.

The 2024 Jeep Gladiator has a mid-cycle refresh that could have led to delays. The production facility had to be retrofitted to build the new trucks and that can take time. Plus, more trucks are starting to face supply chain shortages.

But it’s still early in the year. Things could change, so stay tuned to see if the Gladiator swims or sinks.
