Is the 2024 Jeep Gladiator Worth Waiting For?
You might be able to find an excellent deal on a 2023 Jeep Gladiator at the moment. It seems like dealers want to clear them from the lot, which makes sense. They need to make room for the 2024 Jeep Gladiator, which could be refreshed and improved.
Is the 2024 Jeep Gladiator being redesigned?
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator has now officially been revealed, and it includes a mid-cycle refresh similar to the 2024 Jeep Wrangler.
We’ve seen the new Wrangler, and we’ve even been off-roading in it! If that drive was any indication, the new Gladiator will be a breath of fresh air.
Jeep announced the refresh will include an updated grille, a new standard touchscreen, and more. Three new upgrade packages are also going to be available for those looking to take their truck to the next level.
Still no electric version for now
Even after the auto show debut, we’re still waiting on official specs. Unfortunately, nothing about an electrified model was mentioned.
It had a chance be the first plug-in hybrid truck to hit the market. Reportedly, the Gladiator 4xe was delayed until the Jeep Wrangler gained its mid-cycle refresh.
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe pairs a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with two electric motors and a battery pack to generate 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 5.5 seconds.
It has an EPA-estimated electric range of 21 miles on a single charge and can achieve up to 49 MPGe. Also, it has a 370-mile range between fill-ups.
When the plug-in hybrid version of the truck eventually does arrive, we expect the Gladiator 4xe will be available as a more expensive engine, and the current standard engine will be carried over. The 3.6-liter V6 engine provides 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.
The turbodiesel 3.0-liter V6 engine has 260 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. But the Wrangler discontinued the diesel engine, so it could be dropped with the Gladiator too.
The Gladiator can tow up to 7,700 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,725 lbs. It has the best-in-class towing capacity and doesn’t need any extra power.
How much will the 2024 Jeep Gladiator cost?
Pricing for the 2024 Jeep Gladiator still hasn’t been officially released (per Jeep’s website), but we wouldn’t be surprised by a slight increase to cover the fresh upgrades. The 2023 Jeep Gladiator has an MSRP of $38,990. The $1,795 destination fee isn’t included.
The 2023 Wrangler starts at $31,195, and the 2024 model takes the entry-level price up to $31,895. That’s only an increase of $700.
But the Gladiator has a higher starting price than some full-size trucks that are on an entirely different level. The Gladiator has a lot of standard features, such as 4×4, to sweeten the deal. It has a high resale value too.
We should know more about the 2024 Gladiator soon and hope that it has comfort, convenience, and capability upgrades to justify the price.
