Woot, woooo, the Kia Seltos is the next SUV to ride on the upgrade train. It will continue chugging along with new features that correct some potential issues with the current model. See what’s new for the 2024 Kia Seltos. 

2024 Kia Seltos: What’s new? 

The 2024 Kia Seltos is getting a mid-cycle refresh with attractive tweaks. It gained a revised front bumper and rear end with updated headlights. According to AutoBlog, the new look includes a star map signature grille that should be distinct and noticeable in the distance. 

We will need to see it to believe it. But on a positive note, the Seltos gained a more confident and prominent look. Also, the tailgate features a full-width taillight design to help it stand out in the crowded segment. 

The Seltos is the only tiny Kia SUV that offers all-wheel drive. So naturally, the Kia Seltos X-Line has been added to the lineup with rugged upgrades. It features 18-inch wheels, a unique grille, and distinct badging. 

Does the 2024 Seltos have more power? 

Yes, the 2024 Kia Seltos features upgraded engines to provide a little more muscle, which is needed. The standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine cranks out 147 hp and 136 lb-ft of torque. This is an increase from 146 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque. 

You can upgrade to the 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine for 195 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. This is an increase from 175 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque, so it features 20 extra ponies. 

Both powertrain options are ditching the seven-speed transmission for an eight-speed automatic transmission for smoother transmission shifts. 

The 2023 Seltos with the turbocharged engine can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 8.1 seconds, which is pretty good for the class. But the standard engine is even slower. We hope both options are a little faster. 

Also, the 2023 Kia Seltos can tow up to 2,948 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,092 lbs. It doesn’t exactly need more hauling power, and it’s unclear if it will gain any extra muscle. 

It’s possible that all terms could have standard AWD, and that would be an excellent perk. The Seltos has a 7.3-inch ground clearance and could benefit from a slight lift. Perhaps an X-Pro model is in the works. 

Does the 2024 Seltos interior have improvements? 

Yes, the 2024 Kia Seltos has an upgraded interior with higher-quality materials such as faux-leather upholstery, soft-touch surfaces, and sliver-painted trim pieces. 

A 4-inch digital gauge cluster replaced the analog gauges, and you can opt for the 10.3-inch unit. The curved screen spans from the steering wheel to the canter of the dash, like the unit in the Kia Sportage and Kia EV6. 

New convenience features include adaptive cruise control, a power liftgate, lane-keeping assistance, and ventilated seats. 

So the 2024 Seltos offers more power, has a more confident look, has modern tech, includes more convenience features, and optional rugged styling. Most importantly, it could be a little sportier.
