The 2024 Kia Sorento X-Pro Actually Means Business
Do you know what sounds wild? The idea of a Kia Sorento tackling the wild. But you’re about to see a lot more Kia SUVs and even a truck off the beaten path soon. The 2024 Kia Sorento X-Pro is the latest example of the automaker’s ability to provide rugged adventurers.
What comes with the 2024 Kia Sorento X-Pro?
The rugged and capable 2024 Kia Sorento X-Pro builds upon the X-Line with off-roading upgrades. The X-Line starts with all-wheel drive, unique bumpers, silver trim pieces, a panoramic sunroof, raised roof rails, and dark-painted grey wheels.
Then the X-Pro adds 17-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain BFGoodrich tires, standard torque vectoring AWD, a center locking differential, and an extra inch of ground clearance. It has 8.2 inches of ground clearance, which is a great start.
Also, the towing capacity has been increased from 2,000 lbs to 4,000 lbs, so go ahead and pull a larger trailer or more adventure crafts.
The X-Pro package is exclusive to the top-spec SX-Pretige trim. This is a bummer because we were hoping for it to be more accessible.
But this also means that it comes with the turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 281 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque.
This is beefier than the standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 191 hp and 181 lb-ft of torque. The standard engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and the turbo is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The SX Prestige trim starts at $41,690 and the SX Prestige X-Pro takes the price up to $47,390. So, the package costs roughly $5,700. It’s expensive, but the extra towing power and off-roading capabilities make a true difference.
Other updates for the 2024 Sorento include a brand-new face with a larger grille, sleek T-shaped headlights, a restyled front bumper and skid plate, and a large vertical air intake on each side.
The rear end has been restyled to match the Kia Telluride with article tail lights. The interior has been restyled with modern design and advanced tech such as dual 12.3-inch screens and a 360-degree camera.
Stay tuned as the 2024 Kia Sorento X-Pro leaves the pavement for the wild. We can’t wait to put it to the test.
