2024 LC 500 Convertible: Here’s What’s New With the Lexus Supercar
The Lexus LC 500 is arguably the most stunning car in the brand’s lineup, and it’s undergoing a few changes for 2024. Fortunately, it’s not going under the knife and getting a facelift. Instead, the Japanese luxury automaker made a few tweaks to make its infotainment system a little easier to use. There are also a few new colors to choose from.
Lexus revised one key feature inside the LC 500 for 2024
Lexus didn’t just leave the outside of the LC 500 untouched, but its interior remains mostly unchanged as well – except for the infotainment system. Both the LC 500 coupe and convertible will receive a 12.3-inch infotainment system with a touchscreen instead of a touchpad controller on the center console.
The screen is a tablet-style unit that sits front and center on the dashboard, replacing the previous model’s recessed screen. It will also run the new Lexus Interface software, allowing for over-the-air updates, a voice assistant, and other connectivity features. Also, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone integration will be standard.
The Lexus LC 500 will look a little more colorful than before
Although there aren’t any major changes to the LC 500’s exterior, Lexus will offer the supercar in a few more colors. The new exterior colors are called “Ultrasonic Blue Mica” for an extra $595 and “Copper Crest” for an extra $500. There’s also a new interior color called Copper Crest.
An interesting update is the addition of the Bespoke Build option. This option unlocks features like a carbon-fiber roof, different soft top colors, and a new white-and-blue interior colorway for $1,900.
Mechanical and pricing changes
There aren’t any mechanical changes for either the Lexus LC 500 coupe or convertible. Under the hood of the coupe is either a naturally aspirated, 471-hp 5.0-liter V8 or a 354-hp V6 hybrid powertrain, but the convertible will only have the V8.
A park-assist system is now standard, as are 21-inch wheels. However, all of these new goodies come at a cost. Lexus increased the price of the LC 500 convertible by $2,700; it now starts at $106,350. The coupe also received a price increase by a whopping $3,250 – it now starts at $98,850. That’s not chump change for most buyers, but it’s a drop in the bucket for the ultra-rich clientele.
No Ultimate Edition for the U.S. market
Earlier this year, we reported the changes being made to the 2024 Lexus LC 500, but those changes were for the European market. The most notable update is the “Ultimate Edition,” which features a Hakugin White paint job, integrated bumper canards, and a Kachi-Blue interior.
Although the Ultimate Edition looks really cool, we like the Bespoke Build more with its white-and-blue color contrast. It’s just too bad that the special name doesn’t sound as cool.
