Is the 2024 Mazda3 Turbo Premium Plus Worth the Extra Cash?
Did you know that Zoom-Zoom hasn’t been used in years? The slogan went away around 2015 as new vehicles like the Mazda3 Turbo moved to the SkyActive platform. This is one of the things I’ve been thinking about while reviewing the 2024 Mazda3 Turbo Premium Plus and now I’m diving into its value.
How much does the 2024 Mazda3 Premium Plus cost?
The 2024 Mazda3 Turbo Premium Plus has an MSRP of $36,650. The $1,165 destination fee brings the price up to $37,815 before dealership markups.
The entry-level model starts at $26,855 with the destination fee included, so it costs roughly 10,960 to go from the basic model to the top-spec trim level.
One of the biggest benefits of the upgrade includes gaining more power. The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine provides 191 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. This is an adequate amount of power for merging into traffic and passing others.
But the turbocharged 2.5-liter engine generates up to 250 hp and 320 hp for a thrilling experience. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.1 seconds.
It provides smooth gear shifts and ample power without the need to floor it to literally Zoom-Zoom around traffic.
The Premium Plus model includes paddle shifters for precise control. Other trim levels can be driven as a manual with the gear shifter, but the paddle shifters feel more concise and allow you to better focus on the road.
Also, the Premium Plus model features standard AWD, which is an excellent perk in slippery conditions.
The Mazda3 has a standard 8.8-inch infotainment system, but the Premium Plus has a 10.25-inch screen. It makes it easier to see Apple CarPlay/Android Auto menus.
The standard 360-degree camera and parking sensors are helpful in tight situations, but not necessary as the Mazda3 has a convenient size that’s easy to maneuver in crowded areas.
Other benefits include the standard wireless charging pad and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity to eliminate the need for wires. The 12-speaker premium Bose audio system is another upgrade for covering road noise and enjoying your favorite music.
The leather upholstery feels more lavish than the synthetic leather and cloth upholstery on lower trim levels. For some reason, upgrading to the Premium Plus model is the other way to get a heated steering wheel, and it’s very toasty.
Other additions include a sunroof, built-in navigation with traffic sign recognition, adaptive LED headlights, lane-centering assist, rear automatic braking, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a head-up display.
The 2024 Mazda3 Turbo Premium Plus model is worth it if you want the most athletic and luxurious experience. It also offers more advanced tech, but a few lower-level trims still include some of these features. The interior could benefit from more upgrades as well.
