The 2024 Nissan Armada is selling below invoice because these SUVs aren’t moving very quickly. There is over a three-month supply clogging up the dealership lots.
As a result, the Armada is being offered for as much as 15% off its invoice. That’s what the dealership pays for a car, not its MSRP.
Nissan told dealers to list the 2024 Armada at 10 to 15% below invoice, which allows over $10,000 off the top-spec Platinum model. It has an MSRP of $68,590. Also, the Armada starts with an MSRP of $56,520.
Not all dealers aren’t happy with this deal as it requires them to eat costs instead of benefit from incentives. But perhaps they can make up the differences by marking up prices on more popular models such as the Frontier or Pathfinder.
Another reason why the Nissan Armada is selling below invoice could be because it’s falling behind rivals like the Kia Telluride or Toyota Sequoia.
It has a stout 5.6-liter V8 engine with 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque, which is exciting. However, it only gets an EPA-estimated 13 mpg in the city and up to 18 mpg on the highway. It’s time for something more efficient.
Also, it was last updated in 2021. As a result, the tech could seem dated. While wireless Apple CarPlay is standard, Android Auto requires a wired connection.
The third row is cramped and the Armada isn’t as practical as other SUVs. The second row seats don’t slide forward and the high cargo floor can make loading heavy items difficult.
