The Nissan Titan is a full-size pickup truck with a standard V8 engine. Slotted above the midsize Frontier, the Titan is a value-oriented alternative to the dominant American trucks in this class and the Toyota Tundra. Nissan has announced that it’s winding down production of the Titan. As such, 2024 will be its final model year in the U.S.

Although the Nissan Titan is a slow seller compared to its top competitors, there’s one trim that buyers prefer.

What trims are available for the 2024 Nissan Titan?

The 2024 Nissan Titan has three trims available. This is an unusually narrow model range for a full-size truck, which typically offers myriad trim options across a wide price range. The S trim was dropped this year, leaving the SV model as the new base trim. 

Available as a King Cab or Crew Cab, the Titan SV has a 400-horsepower V8 engine, 18-inch alloy wheels, cloth seats, an eight-inch touchscreen, a sliding rear window, and modern safety tech like adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. The optional SV Convenience Package adds niceties like parking sensors, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and more.

The PRO-4X trim is the most rugged trim of the Titan, both aesthetically and mechanically. In addition to a stylish appearance package, the PRO-4X has standard 4WD, Bilstein off-road shocks, all-terrain tires, hill descent control, and an electronic locking rear differential. It’s no Raptor, but it’s a respectable off-roader.

The Titan PRO-4X comes standard with LED headlights, cloth and embroidered vinyl upholstery, a nine-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, navigation, automatic climate control, and rear USB ports. It comes exclusively with the Crew Cab body.

The top Platinum Reserve trim is the fanciest variant of the bunch. Also available exclusively as a Crew Cab, the Titan Platinum Reserve comes with leather seats (heated and cooled in front), heated rear seats, a power steering column, a power-sliding cab rear window, an around-view monitor, chrome running boards, LED bed lighting, and a Fender 12-speaker premium audio system.

Which is the most popular?

According to Edmunds, the base SV model is the most popular trim of the 2024 Nissan Titan. This is likely because many shoppers choose the Titan because of its value proposition. It’s one of the most affordable options in V8-powered, full-size pickups.

If you spend around $60k on a loaded Platinum Reserve model, you could get a well-equipped truck from a competitor. This is the price range of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country and Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn.

Another possible reason for the SV trim’s popularity is that it’s the one recommended by experts. “We’d get a Titan SV with the $2,590 Convenience Package,” Autotrader says. “For about $50,000, you’ll get a comfortable and well-equipped full-size truck with a powerful V8 engine.” Car and Driver agrees. “Since the base S model no longer exists, we’d opt for the crew cab SV with rear-wheel drive because it’s the least expensive.”
