The 2024 Ram 1500 Still Outranks the Ford F-150
Being new and improved doesn’t always help a truck climb the ranks. The Ram 1500 has been pretty much the same since 2019 and still outranks the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150. What advantages does the older 2024 Ram 1500 have?
2024 Ram 1500 vs. 2024 Ford F-150
According to the U.S.News, the 2024 Ram 1500 outranks the 2024 Ford F-150, and this isn’t a new phonememnon. The Ram 1500 has been a top option since it was redesigned back in 2019.
Rivals like the F-150, Toyota Tundra, and Chevy Silverado 1500 have been trying to play catch up, but Ram is still the class leader due to having the best ride quality, quietest interior, and innovative tech.
The 2024 F-150 is rocking a mid-cycle refresh but apparently still has some work to do. While the Ram 1500 earned a score of 8.9 out of 10, the F-150 got an 8.8. It’s so close to matching the Ram truck, but if you aren’t first, you’re last.
The U.S.News serves as an industry average by basing scores on published reviews by respected automotive critics that are published online, in newspapers, and magazines.
Each score includes the vehicle’s performance, fuel economy, reliability, interior quality, tech, cargo space, towing power, safety scores, and value.
The Ram truck ranks highly for having a high-end interior, a massive range in power from enticing to ridiculous, and an excellent balance between its ride quality and capability.
But potential drawbacks include its lack of standard driver assist features and it can’t tow as much as rivals. The Ram 1500 can tow up to 12,750 lbs while the 2024 F-150 can tow up to 13,500 lbs. That’s a 750 lb difference.
The Ford F-150 receives praise for having diverse powertrains with plenty of muscle, a well-built cabin, class-leading towing and payload capabilities, and intuitive tech.
Potential drawbacks include the F-150 Raptor R’s weak fuel economy and numb brakes in the F-150 Hybrid model.
The Ram TRX doesn’t have a good fuel economy either. Both of these monster trucks get about 10 mpg per gallon.
There could be better reasons to lower the Ford F-150’s score, but the Ram 1500 is still the top option because it has the best ride and interior quality.
