The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Solves Significant Issues
Forget the Subaru Crosstrek that you used to know. Significant changes are being made that solve a lot of previous issues. The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek has better looks, more comfort, and could even have more muscle!
2024 Subaru Crosstrek: What we know so far
Oh no, we have to wait for the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek to arrive in America with incredible upgrades. Meanwhile, Japan gets the redesigned models right now. While we’re jealous, at least w have a preview of what to expect.
The 2024 Crosstrek got a tougher look with larger grille bars, a raised suspension, beefier cladding on the front and rear, and available 18-inch wheels. New paint colors include OffShore Blue Metallic and Oasis Blue. Nine colors will be available in America.
Also, each model comes with standard LED lights in the front and rear. Plus, the side sills and lower rear gate trim feature a new mountain-inspired landscape texture. But best of all, the Crosstrek has fresh chops to back up the more confident look.
The 2024 Crosstrek has a better ride
The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek rides on the latest version of the Subaru Global modular platform. According to MotorAuthority, it has a more rigid construction, and the full inner frame is constructed before the outer body panels are welded on.
This should improve the Crosstrek’s handling and reduce vibrations. Plus, it gained extra soundproofing materials for a quieter cabin.
But the Crosstrek still has the same overall length and wheelbase. On an interesting note, it got shorter. It’s going from an 8.7-inch ground clearance down to 7.9 inches. Perhaps this is part of Subaru’s goal to make the Crosstrek more nimble and tough.
We hope it gains the new e-Boxer hybrid powertrain. It could pair a 2.0-liter H-4 engine with an electric motor and a battery pack. The Crosstrek is currently powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 152 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque.
You can upgrade to the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine for 182 hp and 176 lb-ft of torque. The Crosstrek can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 8.4 seconds, so it could use extra muscle.
Rumors suggest it will get the Subaru symmetrical all-wheel drive system, which could boost its off-roading capabilities.
The 2024 Crosstreck is getting a better interior
The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek has new front seats that are better designed to support the pelvis and reduce body motors. Improved bolstering should hold you in place. Plus, the seats are now bolted to the frame to reduce vibration and sway.
You’ll find new storage cubbies that are easier to access. The rear seats still have a 60:40 split and can be folded down to store more cargo.
The dashboard has a slightly more attractive design and features an 11.6-inch infotainment screen. Other upgraded tech could include a new digital gauge cluster and an improved head-up display.
We can’t wait to see how the new Crosstrek handles. It should be more athletic and comfortable. Also, we hope the new engine comes to America, but we’ll have to wait to learn more.
