Some people buy an SUV with plans to keep it forever, but others plan to sell it after five years. You may expect the 2024 Toyota 4Runner or 2024 Jeep Wrangler to have the best resale value, but the Ford Bronco is here to cause an upset. See what to expect with the 2024 Ford Bronco. 

The 2024 Ford Bronco has the best resale value 

According to Kelley Blue Book, the vehicle with the best overall resale value is the 2024 Ford Bronco. It’s protected to have 66.7% resale value after five years of ownership. 

It isn’t just leading the list of SUVs, but it’s the top option out of every truck, sedan, and SUV. The Jeep Wrangler didn’t make it in the top 10, but the 2024 Toyota 4Runner landed in eighth place with a resale value of 54.6%. 

I looked all over the internet for a KKB resale value attached to the 2024 Jeep Wrangler but came up short. 

According to CarEdge, the Wrangler has a residual value of 77.73% after five years of ownership for a resale value of $33,565. The Bronco has a residual value of 65.25% and a resale value of $30,955.

Also, the 4Runner is projected to have a residual value of 80.64% after five years of ownership with a resale value of roughly $44,652. 

KKB uses the Kelley Blue Book Official Resale Guide. The residual values are based on millions of transactions and statistical models. CarEdge also uses ath but combines the purchase price, residual value, maintenance, repair, and insurance costs. 

According to KBB, the average vehicle maintains 42.4% of its sticker value, so the Ford Bronco and Toyota 4Runner are well above average. I feel like the Jeep Wrangler should be included in the top 10 as well. 

But the Bronco gets the parade this time. Five Toyota vehicles are included in the top 10 and the Maverick is the only other Ford model that made it in. The Ford Maverick is expected to have a 54% resale value. 

Perhaps the Bronco has a higher resale value at the moment because there aren’t as many used models available. Stay tuned as market conditions could change.
