2024 Tesla Model 3: Here’s What’s New With Tesla’s EV Sedan
The new 2024 Tesla Model 3 arrives with a welcome refresh. Gone are the soft styling cues of the preceding Model 3. In its place, the market’s most disruptive EV manufacturer created an aggressive entry-level Tesla Model 3, with a new price to match its new looks. Here’s some of what you can expect from the upcoming baby Tesla.
What is new in the 2024 Tesla Model 3?
The Tesla Model 3 gets a new exterior and interior look for 2024. Of course, the most noticeable of the Model 3’s updates is its new fascia, complete with squinted headlights and LED bar lamps. Around the back, the Model 3 wears single-piece tail lamps that rise with the trunk lid.
In addition to the more grown-up exterior styling, the Model 3’s interior gets a welcome material upgrade and ergonomic update. Fit and finish are much better, with an even more dramatic lean on elegant simplicity. Like previous models, the cockpit centerpiece is the massive screen, which now measures an expansive 15.4 inches and controls most of the vehicle’s functions. We anticipate that drivers with shorter wingspans will still find the far reaches of the screen difficult to access.
Behind the front seating, passengers now have an 8.0-inch display with a world of content to peruse, including Netflix. However, if rear-seat occupants aren’t a concern for you, the 60/40 folding seats turn the Model 3 into a cavernous space.
Will there be a Model 3 Performance in 2024?
The new Tesla Model 3 will be available in three different trim levels: Standard Range RWD, Long Range AWD, and Performance. As expected, the Standard Range RWD trim will be one of the marque’s only single-motor applications, while the Long Range AWD and Performance trims will be dual-motor setups.
That’s good news for fans of the thrust-happy Model 3 Performance; the previous generation is one of the fastest accelerating cars at its price point. Period.
Will Tesla lower prices in 2024?
Along with the mid-life refresh, Tesla has a new price scale for the 2024 Tesla Model 3 across the three trim levels.
Trim | Starting price |
Model 3 Standard Range RWD | $38,990 |
Model 3 Long Range AWD | $45,990 |
Model 3 Performance | $50,990 |
How much horsepower does the 2024 Model 3 have?
In 2023, the single-motor Model 3 RWD produced 271 horsepower, while the more muscular dual-motor Long Range trim made closer to 425, per TrueCar. What’s more, the Performance model produced a range-topping 455 horsepower. The 2024 model has the same trim lineup as its predecessor and will make similar power.
