2024 Toyota Camry: What Changes Were Made to 1 of the Best-Selling Sedans?
The Toyota Camry is one of the brand’s longest-running and most well-known nameplates. With every generation, the Japanese automaker ups the ante on the popular family sedan by adding more features, tech, and aggressive aesthetics. Although the Camry is due for a complete redesign, let’s take a closer look at what the 2024 model year offers.
Toyota carried over nearly everything from the 2023 Camry to 2024
Although we wish Toyota completely updated the Camry for the 2024 model year, it didn’t. It looks like we may have to wait another year for a major redesign. However, the good news is that the engine choices remain the same, as do the sporty trim levels like the Camry TRD.
There are also plenty of colors to choose from, including the unique Calvary Blue, as well as a few different black contrasting color options. Additionally, Toyota raised the price of each trim level by $100 for the new model year.
The 2024 Toyota Camry has 13 different trim levels
Toyota has always done well to value-package its cars according to trim level. This not only makes it easier to manufacture the car, but it’s also easier on the buyer. If you don’t want certain features, pick a lower trim level. As such, there are a total of 13 different trim levels for the 2024 Camry.
That’s right; there are eight different trims for the gas model and five for the hybrid variant. The lower five trim levels – LE, SE, SE Nightshade, XLE, and XSE – are equipped with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, while a 3.5-liter V6 powers the upper TRD, XLE V6, and XSE V6.
The Camry Hybrid comes in five similar flavors – LE Hybrid, SE Hybrid, SE Nightshade Hybrid, XLE Hybrid, and XSE Hybrid. Yes, the engine choices are carried over from last year’s model, but we applaud Toyota for keeping the trusty V6 engine when other automakers veered toward turbocharged four-cylinder engines.
Which trim level is right for you?
With all these different trim level options, some buyers may wonder which is the best one to pick. As always, we suggest choosing the trim based on your wants and needs. That said, we would opt for the Camry XLE for its larger 9-inch infotainment system, heated and ventilated leather front seats, and smart key entry.
Audiophiles should opt for the available JBL sound system, and if you live in a snow state, we recommend opting for the all-wheel drive configuration. It’s important to note that the AWD layout is only available for the four-cylinder model, not the V6 or Hybrid.
When will the 2024 Toyota Camry be available?
Toyota says the 2023 Camry should show up in dealerships nationwide starting in August of this year. We recommend checking out a few different dealerships in your local area to get the best price and inventory selection as the cars start to roll out.
However, if you would rather save some money, you can also look into a used 2023 Camry model, which can sell for a lower price. Considering the 2024 model is mostly carried over, the 2023 model is essentially the same car.
