During the past decade, SUVs have been on the rise, killing sedans. Ford even cut each of its sedans. However, a few great cars are still alive. One of the best options to consider is the 2024 Toyota Camry. It has advantages over SUVs with few drawbacks to consider.

Is the 2024 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes, the 2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid is an excellent car to consider if space, comfort, and convenience are at the top of your list. It has an advantage over other affordable sedans by offering AWD.

Some critics may argue that it’s a bit dated since the current  Camry generation launched in 2018, but it recently got a mid-cycle refresh to stay modern.

Let’s start with potential 2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid drawbacks:

  • The brakes can be sensitive
  • The cargo space is average for the class
  • My model had a bright red interior, which received complaints
  • It could have a more athletic experience

To be honest, it’s difficult to find disappointing features with the Toyota Camry Hybrid. This will cause people to claim that I get paid to review cars, and I wish that was true. I test-drive models because I love to drive all the things.

I’m traditionally into off-roading trucks and SUVs, so I wasn’t the most excited auto nerd in the world to drive another sedan. I was wrong to be disappointed because the Camry Hybrid provided a relaxing, comfortable, and entertaining week.

The Camry Hybrid is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with two electric motors to provide 208 hp and 163 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.9 seconds.

This is just enough power for exciting rides, but the Camry Hybrid could be a little more athletic. However, this is more than enough power for passing others and merging into traffic.

The steering has the perfect amount of heft and the handling is responsive. But the brakes can be grabby and take a little time to master. Also, the 19-foot turning radius is very agile. The Camry is easy to park and maneuver in tight areas.

It gets an EPA-estimated 51 mpg in the city and up to 53 mpg on the highway. It can travel up to 580 miles between fill-ups.

For commuting, running errands, and road trips, the 2024 Toyota Camry excels with comfort and convenience. It has a smooth ride that easily dampens larger impacts on the road.

The 2024 Toyota Camry has massive, push seats that are well-padded in the front. They have a wide range of adjustments for all body types. Also, the ventilated seats are surprisingly strong and effective on hot summer days.

Plus, the backseat is just as comfortable with plenty of space for adults to stretch out. It has rear-air vents, which is rare for the class.

Some critics claim that the tech is dated but the Camry is expected to be redesigned in 2026. I felt as if the tech was modern and easy to use.

The digital gauge cluster shows how much energy the regenerative braking system provides. You can also see when you’re only using electric energy and how much energy you have. The EV mode allows you to only use electric power.

Also, the available 9.0-inch infotainment system has attractive graphics. However, the backup camera would benefit from a higher resolution. The system works quickly and is controlled by physical buttons and knobs.

The 2024 Camry Hybrid has an attractive layout with upscale materials. But critics warn that lower-trim models are a bit spartan.

Plush leather upholstery covers most surfaces. However, my model had so much red. You could see me coming from a mile away and multiple people commented that they didn’t like it. The black upholstery pairs better with the metal accents and ambient lighting.

With the Camry Hybrid, you get 15.1 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk. This is only average, but there are storage trays and cubbies to take advantage of. Plus, the doors have wide openings, making it super easy to get in and out of.

Overall, why the 2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid isn’t the sportiest car in the world, it has plenty to offer. It’s easy, refined, comfortable, and extremely efficient.
