The 2024 Toyota RAV4 has a ridiculous wait time
Dealership inventories are finally returning to normal. This means that SUVs should be easier to find. But the 2024 Toyota RAV4 manages to be elusive with an insane wait time. Production isn’t keeping up with demand.
How long is the wait for a 2024 Toyota RAV4?
According to CarSauce, the 2024 Toyota RAV4 has a wait time of about six months. This is extremely long as production and inventory levels return to normal.
Typically when someone orders new trucks or SUVs, it takes about six to eight weeks to be built and scheduled for delivery.
But it’s also a sign of relief because six months is much shorter than the wait time used to be. Orders for the RAV4 Hybrid have been hovering around 18 months. Then the wait time was reduced to about a year.
In the third quarter of 2023, the waiting time was about seven months on average. In the second quarter of 2024, the waiting time was reduced to five months. So, things are slowly getting back on track.
Some rumors suggest that RAV4 models were being held due to quality delays. Allegedly, the infotainment system had an issue. However, I haven’t found any legitimate evidence to back up this claim.
In 2023, the RAV4 sold 434,943 models. It outsold the Tesla Model Y and is the most popular SUV in America. So far, the 2024 Toyota RAV4 has moved 319,035 models.
It won’t make much difference to wait for the 2025 RAV4 to arrive. It’s expected to be a carryover model. Plus, prices for the 2025 model could increase. The 2024 model raised pricing by $1,710.
The 2024 RAV4 has an MSRP of $28,675. The $1,350 destination fee increases the starting price to $30,025. The top-spec TRD Off-Road trim takes the price up to $39,645 with the destination fee included.
