The 2024 Toyota Supra Interior Lets 1 Crucial Secret out
I’ll admit that I’m a truck girl. I can tell you 125% about the Toyota Tacoma, but my information on the Toyota Supra was lacking until I spent a week with one. I may say a few redundant or obvious things to sportscars fans. However, the 2024 Toyota Supra interior gives one crucial fact away.
Is the 2024 Toyota Supra interior nice?
Yes, the 2024 Toyota Supra interior is extremely nice, upscale, and luxurious. But when I first opened the Supra’s door I noticed that it seemed a little dated. Turns out, the last significant Toyota Supra redesign was back in 2019, so it is due for an overhaul.
An aging interior doesn’t mean that it’s bad. It’s still attractive with an intuitive layout that puts everything you need within reach. It’s simple yet elegant.
However, the layout is a little bland without the modern touches found in the BMW 230i, Ford Mustang, or Porsche 718 Cayman.
The Supra could spice things up with a flat bottom sterling wheel, accent stitching, and patterned or textured materials.
For the most part, large sections of black upholstery cover most surfaces. But the dual-tone design with pops of brown or red contrasting colors does attract the eye.
The bucket seats are supportive, well-padded, and have plenty of side bolstering to hold the drive in place. The leather-trimmed design with suede inserts is comfortable, but the seats could use a more athletic style.
Also, modern tech is missing from the cabin. The 8.8-inch infotainment screen is pretty small and the rearview camera is a bit grainy.
There’s no 360-degree camera or front camera views. So, you rely on the available parking sensors to avoid obstacles as visibility is limited by small windows and the bulking hood.
The head-up display only shows the speed limit and your speed. Rivals have systems that show your navigation directions and blind-spot warning indicators.
Plus, the 8.8-inch digital gauge cluster has a large analog gauge in the center with limited customization options. It doesn’t display how many miles you have until empty, your gear shifts, or G force.
The driving modes are limited to Normal, Sport, and Custom. Rivals offer a Sport S and Quiet mode. I apologize to my neighbors for having loud engine roars around 7 A.M. I was hoping for a remote engine rev feature on the keyfob like the Ford Mustang has, but oh well.
My favorite feature involves the full AC blast unction. If you hit it, both automatic climate control zones blow air at 60 degrees with a full blast. If makes a hot interior turn frosty in a matter of seconds. But the lack of ventilated seats was a surprise.
Also, the 2024 Toyota Supra interior only has one USB-A port and no USB-C option. But connecting to wireless Apple CarPlay was easy without a cord.
Last but not least, the wireless phone charging pad has a little shelf above it. It’s probably designed to hold your phone in place, but my phablet is too large to fit.
The dated interior is only an issue for those looking to have more tech, comfort, and convenience.
It could be a benefit for those who just want to drive without all the distracting bells and whistles. The tech in the BMW models I’ve driven is frustrating and distracting.
But the Supra is set up to let you easily drive without a care in the world. It could be cooler, but the dated design doesn’t take away from its performance or fun.
