Remember that  2024 Toyota Tacoma transmission problem? It still exists. Unfortunately, the problem didn’t magically get away, leaving owners sad after having their new trucks delivered. In fact, the problem has been growing, but Toyota isn’t ignoring it.

2024 Toyota Tacoma transmission problems lead to replacements

People have been waiting for their 2024 Toyota Tacoma trucks to be delivered only to be disappointed. Some drivers quickly discover transmission problems that need to be addressed immediately.

New Tacoma owners haven’t been quiet about the failing transmissions either. Complaints have been built in forums, FaceBook groups, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) site.

Because the owners are persistent, the complaints have made it to the top. Toyota is aware of the issue and released a technical service bulletin (TBS) to replace the transmission and torque converter if needed.

The TSB was reportedly shared on Tacoma4G and lists six diagnostic codes that indicate the need to replace the transmission and torque converter.

You need one of the six codes to appear to qualify for the replacements. Also, your 2024 Tacoma model might not be covered for repairs unless something breaks.

This issue is being investigated by the NHTSA and could lead to a recall later. If the truck is recalled then you could get replacement parts before something breaks. That is much better than having to deal with the aftermath.

But some people could look at this situation and think that Toyota is attempting to keep things quiet and affordable instead of having to deal with a full-blown recall.

Toyota is owning up to the 2024 Tacoma transmission problems by offering replacements in some cases. If you experience a warning light on the dash with wonky transmission behavior, go to a local dealership to see if you’re covered.

Stay tuned for updates. I think this problem could turn into a recall or lawsuit based on how Toyota handles things.
