The 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Has Shocking Upgrades
Taco Tuesdays have been quite spicy, thanks to new Toyota Tacoma updates. But how long will Toyota string us along before the next generation finally drops? The official debut hasn’t been revealed, so until then, all we can do is obsess over the latest 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro clues.
What comes with the 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro?
The official specs for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro haven’t been revealed, but we do have a few interesting clues to investigate. For example, the latest Tacoma teaser provides a clear picture of the wheels with a few suspension clues.
You can see a photo of a beefy all-terrain tire spinning and kicking up dirt. The black wheels are accented by a red TRD badge, and it sits under fender flares that have a similar style to the larger Toyota Tundra.
Another photo displays TRD-specific Fox Racing internal bypass shocks. Motor1 noted that these shocks aren’t available and could be exclusive to the new Tacoma. The new Fox shocks could have different settings.
The other details are difficult to determine, but the TRD Pro could get stronger upper and lower control arms, cast-iron knuckles, and more robust CV axles. It will ride on the TNGA-F platform with more space for upgraded equipment.
We’re pretty excited about the modern disc brakes because the drum brakes on the current model are pretty soft.
Also, other teasers show that the 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro will be paired with a hybrid engine. It could offer more torque for climbing over obstacles. It could get the turbocharged 2.4-liter inline-four engine with 275 hp from the Lexus NX350.
What comes with the 2023 Tacoma TRD Pro?
The 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro features a 1.5-inch suspension lift in the front and a 0.5-inch lift in the rear. It has a 9.4-inch ground clearance. The 16-inch black alloy TRD wheels are wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires with Kevlar.
Machine-forged upper control arms enhance stability, and ¼-inch thick aluminum TRD skid plates protect the undercarriage.
TRD-tuned FOX internal bypass shocks feature 2.5-inch aluminum housings, hardened oversized shock shafts, and remote reservoirs in the rear. It also has Bilstein shocks and an electronically locking rear differential.
The 2023 Tacoma features crawl control, hill start assist, and driving modes for rock/dirt, slippery rock, mud/sand, rock, and mogul.
When will the 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro come out?
The 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro could come out any day now. The teasers are coming in hot, and the truck has been spotted in testing. It could be released in the summer and reach dealerships by the fall.
Information is sparse, but we can determine that the new Tacoma Hybrid is on the way. It will probably be paired with an eight or 10-speed automatic transmission, and it will feature modern brakes.
