The Audi e-tron GT is quick. Real quick. But it’s not that quick compared to the ballistic power and speed of other performance EV sedans like the Tesla Model S Plaid and Lucid Air Sapphire. Until now, that is. The 2025 Audi e-tron GT gets updates for the new year, including getting closer to the 1,000-horsepower club than it’s ever been.

The 2025 Audi RS e-tron GT will produce up to 912 horsepower, making it the brand’s most powerful production model ever

Audi’s e-tron GT is back with more power than ever. Specifically, the latest bragging right in the e-tron GT’s lineup is the 2025 Audi RS e-tron GT Performance, which now summons up to 912 horsepower. That sort of grunt makes the range-topping e-tron model the most powerful production Audi ever.

Of course, like the Tesla Model S Plaid, horsepower-hungry EV fans will have to opt for the top-trim to get the highest power figures. In the case of the e-tron, it’s the RS e-tron GT Performance model. However, even with 912 horsepower on tap, the RS e-tron GT Performance won’t outmuscle some of its premium competition. For instance, the Lucid Air Sapphire and Porsche Taycan Turbo GT produce 1,234 and 1,019 horsepower, respectively.

However, the 2025 Audi RS e-tron GT doesn’t produce 912 horsepower at all times. No, the Performance uses a temporary overboost facility to swell available power to swell its output by 94 ponies. Still, despite the brevity of the overboost function, the RS e-tron GT Performance outmuscles other four-ring superstars like the R8 V10 supercar by hundreds of horsepower.

Still, an abundance of near-silent horsepower isn’t the only upgrade the e-tron GT gets for 2025. For starters, the Audi EV receives a new, lighter rear-mounted electric motor and an updated more clever front motor. Moreover, the RS gets brakes coated in tungsten-carbide with available 10-piston front calipers. High-voltage track day, anyone?
