Cadillac is the luxury division of the automobile giant General Motors. While its parent company has largely favored SUVs, crossovers, and pickups, Cadillac has remained loyal to its sedan market and even plans on launching its first electric sedan, the Cadillac Celestiq. As Cadillac enthusiasts wait for the brand to make electric vehicles, the automaker has given the midsize CT5 a much-needed refresh for the 2025 model year. Here’s everything you need to know about Cadillac’s fresh luxury sedan.

Overview of the 2025 Cadillac CT5

Over the years, Cadillac has crafted a reputation for building luxury sedans with elegant interiors and handsome exteriors. The 2025 Cadillac CT5 announced at the Detroit Auto Show is nothing short of the precedence of elegance and class Cadillac has already set forth, but the new vehicle gets various upgrades that make it worth it.

A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, powers the 2025 CT5 and produces 237 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque. Lead-footed drivers can upgrade to a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine that produces an impressive 335 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. The performance-oriented top trim boasts an even more powerful version of the twin-turbo V6 engine that generates 360 hp and pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Rear-wheel drive is standard and takes 6.6 seconds to saunter to 60 mph. The optional all-wheel drive, however, takes a shorter time to accelerate, hitting 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds. The CT5’s standard turbo-four engine has an EPA estimated fuel economy of 23 mpg on city roads and 33 mpg on the highway.

The V6 engine has an estimated 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. The powerful version falls slightly behind with ratings of 18 mpg on city roads and 27 mpg on the highway. The vehicle’s infotainment system is displayed on a huge 33.0-inch curved touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Other desirable features include hotspot capability, wireless phone charging, and a nine-speaker stereo. A premium stereo tuned by AKG is optional.

Comparison to the outgoing Cadillac CT5

The 2025 Cadillac CT5 may be a gorgeous vehicle, but it doesn’t differ much from the outgoing model. The automaker decided to tweak the grille, front fascia, and interior of the 2024 Cadillac CT5 and also revised the vehicle’s lighting elements. The 2025 model comes with stacked LED headlamps, a vertical daytime running light, and a wider grille.

One of the most significant changes is the much larger infotainment display in the 2025 CT5. The 33.0-inch curved unit that stretches across the instrument panel is a dramatic upgrade to the 10.0-inch display on the 2024 CT5. The new display also has the automaker’s latest Google-based infotainment system, including Google Assistant and Maps. A 5G hotspot is also available.

Both models have standard driver assistance equipment on all trims, including emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision alert, lane departure warning with lane keeping assist, rear park assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. However, the 2025 model adds available traffic sign recognition, an updated automated emergency braking feature to help avoid collisions in intersections, driver attention monitoring, and a blind zone steering assist feature. The 2025 Cadillac CT5 also gets two new paint options, Typhoon Metallic and Deep Space Metallic.

New 2025 Cadillac CT5 trims and price

The 2025 Cadillac CT5 comes in four trims: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, and CT5-V. The automaker hasn’t yet announced pricing for the vehicle, but many auto experts estimate that the CT5 may start north of $40,000.

Cadillac also stated that refreshed versions of the CT5-V and Blackwing will be announced later, but given the 2024 Blackwing had a starting MSRP of $94,890, enthusiasts can expect a slightly higher figure. Anyone who wants to get their hands on the 2025 CT5 will have to wait until spring 2024.
