I’m starting to feel like Ford tricked us with the promise of a cheap truck. The Ford Maverick debuted with an MSRP that was under $20,000 and people went crazy. They went so crazy that demand went out of control, allowing the 2025 Ford Maverick. 

How much does the 2025 Ford Maverick cost? 

Finish whatever you’re drinking and put your cup down, because you’re about to be shocked. The 2025 Ford Maverick starts at $27,310 including the $1,595 destination fee. Also, don’t forget about dealership markups on top of this!

The Maverick XL is the only model that starts under $30,000, which is crazy for a truck that originally had an MSRP of $19,995. So, the MSRP has increased by $5,720 in about three years. 

The $27,890 is for the XL hybrid model with front-wheel drive. So, it looks like the hybrid engine could be standard again. In 2024, the gas engine was standard. 

Adding AWD to hybrid models costs $2,220. So, the standard Maverick Hybrid model with AWD costs $29,530. The XLT Hybrid starts at $30,390 and adding AWD takes the price up to $32,610. 

The Lariat Hybrid is the top-spec model and is only available with AWD. It rings in at $38,380. But the most expensive option is the new Tremor trim level which costs $41,390. It used to be an equipment package and it can’t be paired with the hybrid engine.

Opting for the turbocharged gas-powered engine adds another $2,220 to the price. But there is a discount that reduces the charge to $1,020. 

There are multiple hybrid SUVs, like the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid that get about 40 MPG for under $30,000. For example, the 2024 Corolla Cross has an MSRP of $23,680. 

While the Maverick has the practicality of a pickup truck, it also rides like one with a loud interior. You might be more comfortable in a fuel-efficient SUV instead. 

The order banks opened on August 1, and they’re still open. In 2022, the Maverick sold out in about 24 hours, so if you want the 2025, you might need to hurry. However, the price increases may hurt its popularity.
