The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz just made things easier for the Ford Maverick
Automakers aren’t listening to me when I say that people want cheap trucks! First, the 2025 Ford Maverick got insane price increases, but the higher rates are nothing compared to how expensive the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz just got!
How much does the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz cost?
The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz starts at $28,500 and the $1,395 destination fee increases the total to $29,895! The top-spec Limited trim starts at $43,895, including the destination fee.
In 2024, the Santa Fe started with an MSRP of $26,900, meaning it has shot up by about $1,600, which is a pretty big year-over-year difference. But it did get a refreshed style, off-roading upgrades, and better tech for 2025.
The 2025 Ford Maverick also sports a mid-cycle refresh with significant price increases, but it’s still more affordable than the Santa Cruz.
The 2025 Maverick has an MSRP of $26,295 and the $1,595 destination fee increases the starting price to $27,890. The top-spec Tremor model starts at $41,390 with the destination fee included.
You could get started with a 2024 Maverick for about $23,920. So, the Maverick has a year-over-year MSRP increase of $2,375.
It has a bigger price increase than the Santa Fe, but it also received bigger updates. For example, the Maverick Hybrid can be paired with AWD and flat towed. Also, the MSRP is a far departure from the original starting price of $19,995 in 2021.
Also, the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz didn’t need to help the Maverick out. It still can’t meet demand. For example, the Maverick sold 94,058 models. The 2023 Santa Cruz only sold $36,675 models.
While the Santa Cruz has been experiencing sales growth, perhaps things would be better with prices lower than the Maverick’s.
