The 2025 Jeep Gladiator 4xe Is Finally Happening
If you wish that the Jeep Gladiator 4xe would hurry up and get here, then you aren’t alone. There’s no shame in wanting a truck with more power and a better fuel economy. New clues suggest that the 2025 Jeep Gladiator 4xe could be here by the end of the year.
2024 Jeep Gladiator: What’s new?
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator received a mid-cycle refresh, but instead of gaining hybrid power, it only dropped the diesel engine so far. The Jeep Gladiator 4xe may be pushed back by a couple of months. It could debut in the spring or summer as a 2024 model.
Other than that, the Gladiator has a slightly revised grille to make space for a factory-installed winch and to improve airflow to the engine. Also, the antenna is integrated into the windshield to prevent it from getting hung up on trials.
The Gladiator has more insulation for a quieter, and the air vents have been moved to a more effective location. Plus, a new 12.3-inch touchscreen is standard, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Trails OffRoad feature provides access and navigation to 3,000 trails and trail guides.
New side curtain airbags provide extra safety. Structural reinforcements enhance side impact protection and new standard safety features include forward collision control and adaptive cruise control.
For the first time, the Gladiator has 12-way power-adjustable seats that are waterproof in the front row. Plus, the Rubicon X and Mohave X trims combine luxury and off-roading features like steel rock rails, an integrated off-road camera, and napp leather upholstery.
How much power could the Gladiator 4xe have?
The 2025 Jeep Gladiator 4xe could borrow the same powertrain from the Jeep Wrangler 4xe. It uses a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four engine, two electric motors, and a 17-kWh battery to deliver 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. This would be an exciting
It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6.0 seconds, and it’s the most potent Wrangler aside from the Rubicon 392. However, it can only tow up to 3,500 lbs. The gas-powered Gladiator can tow up to 7,700 lbs.
We don’t see the 4xe being that much weaker than the gas-powered model, so perhaps it will have a more robust hybrid setup. Plus, the Gladiator is larger and heavier than the Wrangler. Rumors also suggest that the Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4xe could be on the way.
Perhaps there’s a hybrid variant of the new Hurricane engine. The 3.0-liter inline-six engine cranks out 500 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque.
Currently, the Gladiator has a standard 3.6-liter V6 engine with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The optional 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine provides 260 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque.
How much range will the Gladiator 4xe have?
The official fuel economy figures for the 2025 Jeep Gladiator 4xe haven’t been released. But the Jeep Wrangler 4xe gets an EPA-estimated electric range of 21 miles on a single charge. It gets about 49 MPGe and can travel up to 370 miles on a single tank.
We would like for the Gladiator 4xe to have a little more range. The gas-powered model gets an EPA-estimated 17 mpg in the city and up to 22 mpg on the highway. Upgrading to the diesel engine provides up to 22 mpg in the city and up to 28 mpg on the highway. But the diesel engine was recently discontinued.
With a Level II charger, it takes about two hours to charge. With a level 1 charger, it can take up to 12 hours. The Wrangler 4xe comes with a standard level 1 charging cable.
Jeep is running out of time to add an electrified option to each model in the lineup by 2025. The Jeep Gladiator 4xe is next in line, so stay tuned for updates. Do you think the Gladiator Hybrid will make the truck better?
