The 2025 Jeep Wrangler V6 engine is limited to the manual transmission
Unfortunately, no automakers ask me before making an update. Stellantis is missing out on my humble opinions as Jeep Wrangler sales continue to tank. I feel like making the 2025 Jeep Wrangler exclusively pair the V6 engine with a manual transmission is limiting.
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler V6 engine is only available with the manual transmission
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler is back for another year with a few interesting changes. The standard 3.6-liter V6 engine with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque is only available with the six-speed manual transmission.
This means that to access the eight-speed automatic transmission you have to upgrade to the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine with 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Doing so costs $2,400.
While this move promotes the use of a manual transmission and off-roading glory, I think drivers could be upset. People who want the most affordable Wrangler with an automatic transmission will be forced to pay more.
Plus, the standard engine is the option available with the manual transmission. So those who want more power and a manual transmission are out of luck.
Other engine options for the 2025 Jeep Wrangler include the 6.4-liter V8 engine with 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. It’s exclusive to the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 model. Production of this model was limited to 3,700 units in 2024.
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe pairs the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor to generate 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.
Other changes are minimal but surprising. The 2025 Wrangler has standard power windows and locks across the entire lineup. Say goodbye to manual windows.
A new shade of 41 paint is available, which is like a shade of Olive Drab. Plus, a new High Altitude trim is expected to debut.
Production is slated to begin during the first quarter of 2025. But pricing hasn’t been released. I won’t be surprised if things get more expensive. Stay tuned for updates.
