Like most automakers, Lincoln is making a big push toward electrification. And the Lincoln Star all-electric SUV is our first glimpse at the Lincoln EVs w’ll see in the upcoming years. Here’s what we know so far about the Lincoln Star EV Concept and what it means for Lincoln’s future.

When will the 2025 Lincoln Star debut?

Lincoln unveiled the Lincoln Star Concept on April 20, 2022. The model comes first in what Lincoln says will be four new EVs added to the lineup by 2026. So far, the first three models are slated to hit the scene in 2025. The fourth installation will follow in the year 2026.

How much does the 2025 Lincoln Star cost?

Lincoln didn’t yet release the price or trim information of the 2022 Star EV, as it is currently a concept and not ready for production. However, Car and Driver estimates a starting cost of $70,000 for the Star. Additionally, the publication speculates that the Star could follow a similar trim lineup as the current Lincoln models, with a base Standard, a mid-range Reserve, and a top-of-the-line Black Label. So pricing for the 2025 Lincoln Star may look something like this:

• Standard: $70,000
• Reserve: $75,000
• Black Label: $85,000

2025 Lincoln Star EV specs: Electric motor output and battery

Lincoln hasn’t released any official specs for the electric powertrain in the Star SUV. However, Car and Driver believes that the Star will have a similar powertrain as the Ford Mustang Mach-E. The Mach-E features dual electric motors that generate up to 480 hp and 634 lb-ft of torque, with batteries ranging in capacity from 75.7-kWh to 98.8-kWh. 

A standard all-wheel drive system makes sense for the 2025 Star. The electric SUV will probably also have an adaptive suspension for a smooth and comfortable ride.

The lack of a gas-powered engine provides space under the hood. This feature adds to the Star’s utility by giving it front trunk storage.

2025 Lincoln Star EV: design and features

It’s unknown how much of the styling will remain for the production version of the Star, but it looks promising. For the exterior, the Star has a futuristic, spaceship-like design. Inside the cabin, the Star’s interior takes a major step forward for the Lincoln brand. Expect a higher level of luxury and technological sophistication.

Notable interior features likely to make the cut for the production version of the Star include 30-way adjustable Perfect Position seats, a massaging function, a piano-key push-button shifter, and a premium sound system. The Star Concept has a massive full-width display screen with unique integrated capabilities allowing content to flow from the center display to the rear screen.

An all-new cabin experience

Lincoln gives us details about a specialized interior cabin experience. The brand says “rejuvenation moods” align with the natural circadian rhythm of the human body. So far, we know that the Star Concept features three of these cabin settings:

• Coastal Morning “uses gentle, oceanic sounds, a fragrance of sea mist and the soft, warm glow of the sun with dynamic lighting throughout to replicate a stroll on the beach at sunrise.”
• Mindful Vitality “is meant to reenergize the senses, with invigorating, upbeat audio, dynamic abstract artwork, soft, glowing lighting and a flowery fragrance throughout.”
• Evening Chill “mirrors dusk using a calming night soundtrack coordinated with night sky video and an evergreen fragrance.”

“Both in design and color composition, the interior is uniquely partitioned into first- and second-row areas. The entire cabin experience in the first and second row is premium, with extra-spacious wraparound seating, reclined lounge posture, individual lounge leg rests and curated storage for devices and slippers, controls for rejuvenation moods and a luxurious glass beverage chiller integrated between the back seats.”

True, we don’t have much information yet. But what Lincoln reflects in the Star Concept has us excited to see what’s coming for the brand.
