2025 Lucid Gravity Challenges Chevy Tahoe with Expansive Cargo Capacity
If you don’t have a wide array of SUVs available, please see yourself out. That is basically what American drivers are insinuating these days, wanting SUVs in every shape and size to choose from. It makes sense, which is why Lucid is diving head-first into the pool of options. The 2025 Lucid Gravity is a luxury electric SUV; if you think that sounds complicated, it isn’t. It’s actually quite cool. Plus, with the Lucid Gravity price starting around $80,000 for the first run, we can see this SUV winning over hearts and wallets pretty quickly.
The Lucid Gravity cargo capacity is surprisingly good
For the first year, the 2025 Lucid Gravity will have 112 cubic feet of usable cargo space. Lucid wanted to ensure this was a flexible space with two rows of seats that folded flat. The second row has sliding seats with tables that flip down from the front seats. Think airplane table but more chic. Lucid also says the third row has enough room for adults. I haven’t seen the Gravity in person yet, but I would like to sit in the back seat to confirm that. As an average-height person, I usually fit OK, but that isn’t always the case, even with “adult-friendly” third rows.
Make & Model | Max Cargo Capacity |
---|---|
2024 Hummer EV SUV | 81.8 cubic feet |
2023 Rivian R1S | 104 cubic feet |
2024 Ford Expedition | 104.6 cubic feet |
2025 Lucid Gravity | 112 cubic feet |
2024 Ford Expedition Max | 121.5 cubic feet |
2023 Chevy Tahoe | 122.9 cubic feet |
The Lucid Gravity will sit in a different category with vehicles like the Rivian R1S, Mercedes-Benz EQS, and even the GMC HUMMER EV SUV. The Chevy Tahoe has 25.5 cubic feet behind the third row, 72.6 cubic feet behind the second, and 122.9 cubic feet with all the rows folded. Lucid’s SUV comes in at 112 cubic feet, which is pretty good for an electric SUV. Chevy’s Tahoe is often known as one of the larger SUVs for passengers and cargo, which is pretty impressive for the Gravity.
Will the Lucid Gravity price start high?
As a large SUV, the Lucid Gravity SUV price will start at around $80,000. That is similar to pricing for the 2024 Lucid Air models. Lucid has not released all of the information for either model, but we can guess there will be a few trim levels and prices to choose from. We can expect a more affordable first edition model, and pricing usually goes up from there.
For comparison’s sake, the 2024 Chevy Tahoe starts at around $58,195. It won’t be in the same category as the Gravity for a few reasons, but we selected the Tahoe because most people consider this one of the more spacious models out there. Those who want the extra-lux version of the large SUV will see a similar price, with the High Country trim starting at $78,895.
Lucid has big plans for the Gravity, projecting a range of more than 440 miles. The ultra-lux three-row SUV will utilize the 900V architecture, which means ultra-fast charging and minimum downtime. Plans for the battery are to make it lighter, smaller, and more sustainable, too.
The Lucid SUV is an above-average luxury electric vehicle
If the Lucid Gravity aimed for efficiency, luxury, and performance with this elegant new three-row SUV, we think it accomplished that. The SUV segment, regardless of size and price, is ultra-competitive and has no room for weak models. This Lucid SUV sounds well thought-out and thoughtfully designed to offer the best of both worlds: a comfortable SUV that’s also electric and luxurious.
Lucid just dropped the first bits of information on its new SUV model, so keep an eye on the news for later updates. Production will start soon, with the 2025 model hitting the streets sometime next year.
