The 2025 Ram 1500 Refresh Is Better Late Than Never
Things are moving quickly in the truck industry, and the Ram 1500 may not feel outdated, but it’s time for a change. It was last redesigned in 2019, and rivals like the Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado have received new looks and upgraded tech since then. The 2025 Ram 1500 will be refreshed to catch up again.
2025 Ram 1500: What to expect
The 2025 Ram 1500 should receive a slight mid-cycle refresh to bring it up to speed. When the current generation debuted in 2019, it had the most modern tech, the most comfortable ride, and the most attractive interior.
While it still dominates with a smooth ride quality, the tech and interior could use a little spice. Since 2019, the Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado 1500 have made things more modern.
The new Ram 1500 is expected to have a revised face. AutoBlog caught wind of a few spy shots of the truck covered in camouflage. This indicates that the front headlights, grille, and bumper could have a new shape.
It might match the look of the upcoming Ram REV. It has thin LED headlights that bend toward the grille. Also, the updated Ram might get a new tailgate, refreshed headlights, and an updated rear bumper.
Other updated aspects may include new special edition models, unique shades of paint, and updated wheel designs.
Will the 2025 Ram have a new interior?
Yes, the 2025 Ram 1500 will have an updated interior. The spy mages show that that entire dash is covered in camouflage. This could indicate that the truck will get a new infotainment touchscreen.
The current model has an available 12.0-inch touchscreen, which is smaller than the class average. It might have a new digital gauge cluster and button layout as well.
Clues suggest that there will be an available passenger screen. In the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, the screen allows the passenger to navigate, check the weather, watch TV, and listen to their own music.
The Ram interior already features premium leather upholstery and a suede headliner, but it could gain more options. We wouldn’t be surprised by updated interior colors, ambient lighting, and accent stitching.
It could also gain a larger panoramic sunroof, more innovative storage solutions, upgraded seat functionalities, and more safety tech.
Will the new Ram 1500 have more power?
We hope that the 2025 Ram 1500 will gain more power, but the official specs haven’t been released. Currently, the 5.7-liter V8 engine with 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque is the most potent option unless you upgrade to the TRX.
Both the Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado offer more power and can tow heavier loads. We would like the Ram 1500 to gain a little extra muscle to catch up. It can tow up to 12,750 lbs, while the F-150 can tow up to 14,000 lbs.
Perhaps it will get a new Hurricane engine. In the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, the 6.4-liter V8 engine generates 471 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharge option cranks out 510 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque.
Both options would provide the Ram 1500 with an exciting boost. We could learn more about the updated Ram truck by the end of the year, but it might not debut until 2024. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
