Sometimes I still expect trucks and SUVs to have reasonable prices, and I’m not sure why. Inflation has prices way up. I almost spit out my coffee when I saw how much the 2025 Toyota Highlander costs. But let’s see if it’s worth it. 

How much does the 2025 Toyota Highlander cost?

The 2025 Toyota Highlander has an MSRP of $40,970 with the destination fee included. The top-spec 25th Edition model increases the price to $54,130. 

On a positive note, AWD is standard across the hybrid lineup. The 2025 Highlander Hybrid starts at $47,470 and the top-spec Platinum Hybrid model takes the price up to $55,125. 

These prices seem a little high for a mid-size SUV with a third row that’s a bit on the small side. The rear seat is so tight that you have the option to upgrade to the larger Toyota Grand Highlander. 

The 2025 Kia Telluride is expected to start at about $38,000 and could be less than the Highlander after the destination fee is added. The Telluride has more passenger space, especially in the rear. 

Also, the 2025 Kia Sorento starts at $31,900. The $1,375 destination fee brings the price up to $33,275. That means it begins at about $7,695 less than the 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid.

With the entry-level 2025 Highlander, you get 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a power liftgate, keyless entry/ignition, a power adjustable driver’s seat, tri-zone automatic climate control, an 8.0-inch infotainment system, and a digital gauge cluster. 

Safety features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and blind spot warning. 

Each gas-powered model comes with a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 265 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a fair amount of standard features that go beyond the basics and a solid amount of power. 

The 2025 Toyota Highlander is refined with upscale materials. The pricing just came as a shock due to the tight third row.
