Volkswagen announced that 2026 VW Scout Pickup Truck EV production will begin in 2026. Unveiling of the concept is slated for next year. But that’s all the information that Volkswagen has given us in terms when this new model will become available.

How much does the 2026 VW Scout Pickup Truck EV cost?

Volkswagen didn’t yet release the price or trims information for the 2026 Scout Pickup Truck EV. However, Car and Driver estimates that the Scout Pickup Truck will have a starting cost of around $55,000. This price puts the Scout Pickup Truck “closer to the mainstream end of the segment rather than the luxury side of the spectrum.”

2026 Scout Pickup Truck specs: Electric motors, off-road capabilities, and driving range

The details about the electric powertrain in the 2026 Scout Pickup Truck are not yet available. However, Car and Driver believes that while the Scout Pickup Truck won’t surpass a 1,000-hp output like the Hummer EV Pickup, it will have a quick acceleration similar to other electric trucks thanks to its instant torque delivery.

Volkswagen is hyping up the off-road prowess of the Scout EV. With this in mind, the Scout will undoubtedly have some type of all-wheel drive system, with one or two electric motors for both the front and rear wheels.

The battery capacity and the driving range of the Scout Pickup Truck are unknown. However, it will probably have an integrated battery pack, with a driving range of over 300 miles.

Volkswagen says that Scout EV pickup and the electric Scout SUV are the beginning of an independent brand that will focus on off-road capability. With utility in mind, Volkswagen intends to aim these new EVs directly at the recreational driving market.

2026 Scout Pickup Truck: What does it look like?

Volkswagen has only revealed small stretches of the Scout Pickup Truck. They show a “burly-looking crew-cab truck with squared-off lines.” It’s unknown if Volkswagen will release other types of cab variants.

We’ll undoubtedly know much more about the Scout Pickup Truck when it makes its debut. We’ll have to wait and see how competitive the Scout Pickup Truck will be against other electric trucks, including the F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T, GMC Hummer EV Pickup, and Chevy Silverado EV.
