When automotive titans achieve a company milestone, they will typically release a limited-edition car. The 25th Anniversary Lamborghini Countach is no different. Commemorating the supercar maker’s quarter-century in business, it’s a rare and desirable model today. First, what is the 25th Anniversary Lamborghini Countach?

In 1988, the Gandini-designed Countach received an exterior update from then-chief engineer Horacio Pagani. As a lover of persistent purveyor of carbon fiber, he swapped body panels for Kevlar and carbon fiber but added more flair. The 25th Anniversary Lamborghini Countach had a revised front fascia, bigger air intakes, NACA ducts, an integrated rear bumper, and other sills and fins.

Inside, the cockpit of the flagship supercar is finished in red over black leather upholstery. Other touches include hand-built, multi-piece 15-inch OZ Racing alloys, an Alpine cassette deck, power-operated windows and seats, electronic climate control, and that all-important gated five-speed shifter. It also has a few Euro-spec features, including distinctive bumpers and lighting features.

What’s under the hood?

Like all of Lamborghini’s heavy-weight supercars, the Countach is stocked with a V12. The naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter 48-valve engine came with 449 horsepower from the factory with the help of a sextet of Weber downdraft carburetors. A 2021 service on the car reportedly included a new cam belt, valve adjustment, and a carb tune to keep its powertrain fresh.  

Underneath, the Countach features a fully independent suspension with coil springs and telescopic shock absorbers. And to stop the 3,500-pound car, the Countach comes with ventilated disc brakes at all four corners.

How many of the 25th Anniversary Lamborghini Countach are there?

Over a three-year production run, Lamborghini produced 658 25th Anniversary cars. According to Bring a Trailer, this particular Countach is allegedly the first sold by EmilianAuto S.P.A in Bologna, Italy. Nevertheless, it has received a few refurbishments since it rolled off the production line.

The listing explains the car was exported from Italy to the UK in 2014. Seven years later, a light restoration was completed—including repainting and a replacement clutch—before it was sent to the U.S. in 2022. Stateside, the Countach’s wheels were refinished and mounted with 225/50 front and 345/35 rear Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires last year.

This 25th Anniversary Lamborghini Countach will come with factory books, tools, service records, a clean Carfax report, and an Arizona title. With just 9,600 miles on the clock, its current auction bid sits at $475,000. Of the 72 Countach sales within the last five years, Classic.com says the average price is roughly $518,000. 25th Anniversary cars typically go for more, like one that sold in early 2023 for $775,000, but it only had 154 miles indicated.
