3 2023 Lexus Models With Perfect NHTSA Scores
Lexus has a strict standard of safety dating back to the beginning of the company’s history. It is no surprise that the Lexus’s 2023 lineup still achieves perfect safety scores on their newest vehicles.
Here are three 2023 Lexus models that have achieved a perfect overall score from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The 2023 Lexus IS was strong across the board
The Lexus IS lineup is not bound to just one vehicle, as this lineup consists of the Lexus IS 300, Is 350, and IS 500. However, all of these vehicles have received perfect safety ratings from the NHTSA.
Where the IS lineup truly stands out is in the side crash and rollover tests. According to the NHTSA, the IS lineup received perfect scores in these two categories. The IS lineup also reports a low rollover risk of just 9.5% in an out-of-control scenario.
The IS lineup received further praise from the NHTSA due to the significant amount of safety technology equipment found in these vehicles. Some of these examples include forward collision warning, lane departure warning, imminent crash warning, and dynamic braking support as standard features.
The 2023 Lexus UX is a seriously safe luxury SUV
The Lexus UX lineup received a perfect five out of five overall rating from the NHTSA due to its good crash tests and great safety technologies in the cabin. Just like the IS lineup, the UX lineup also received perfect side crash test ratings and side barrier crash test ratings. Unfortunately, the rollover risk is slightly higher in the UX than in the IS at 14%.
However, with standard lane departure warning, forward collision warning, imminent crash warning, and dynamic brake support, the entire Lexus UX lineup of SUVs was able to receive a perfect crash test rating from the NHTSA.
The 2023 Lexus ES doesn’t skimp on safety
The Lexus ES lineup continues the tradition left behind by the LS of the ’90s, acting as the executive sedan offering in the Lexus lineup. The Lexus ES comes in a wide variety of models, including the ES 250, ES 350, and ES 300h hybrid.
Regardless of which model you find yourself behind the wheel of, you will be in the cabin of one of the safest sedans on the market today, with all three models receiving perfect crash test ratings by the NHTSA.
The ES received perfect crash test ratings in the front driver-side test, side barrier test, and combined side and pole test. Rollover risk remains low at just 10.5%, and the ES is full of safety technology including forward collision warning, lane departure warning, crash imminent braking, dynamic brake support, and plenty of airbags in the interior.
There are still more 2023 Lexus models to be tested for this model year, but to have three Lexus models receive perfect overall safety scores from the NHTSA is quite an accomplishment for this luxury brand.
